Honored to announce “Black Cherry,” a physical-only 1/1, has been acquired by @WoodmereClubCap for 10 ETH. I’m truly so excited to be a part of this collection. “Black Cherry” is shot in front of and framed in native black cherry trees. It’s been exhibited in Los Angeles and New York and will continue its journey into a beautiful body of collected work. 🌳🖤

Gary Gensler wants to kill your NFTs Calling them securities in an attack on crypto artists. Starting today, we fight back. I’m teaming up with @beeple, @UNFKearth and YOU to deliver 100,000 signatures to the SEC, demanding they keep their hands off our JPEGs And Beeple will immortalize it in an Everyday 🖼️ 🫵 STAND 4 ARTISTS HERE: UNFK.com/action 🫵 ## BACKGROUND - AN ASSAULT ON CRYPTO ART ## Since 2016, creatives around the world have made a living selling original art via NFTs. On Aug. 28, 2024, Gensler sent a Wells notice to @opensea saying he views these artworks as securities. teapawt.net/dfinzer/status/1828791… If Gary isn’t stopped, thousands of artists who make a living from NFTs will no longer be able to support their families. That includes artists you and I love and support. It may even include you. Mark my words: If Gary gets what he wants, digital art ends as we know it. And if NFTs are securities, then what's next? Beanie Babies? Baseball cards? The funny thing is, only a short while ago, Gary said most tokens were not securities. Now, he carries the water for corrupt bankers and politicians threatened by crypto's rise. And with this latest action against NFTs, he is doubling down against crypto art. We speak for all when we say: we are fed up. Now, we fight. Here’s the game plan and how YOU can help... THE CAMPAIGN: 1) Sign the "NFTs are not securities" petition, to let them know we’re ready for a fight Do it anon or doxed. We’re gathering 100,000 signatures to demand the SEC stop the investigation into OpenSea, and make it clear NFTs are NOT securities. 2) Put Gary in the hot seat by reporting him to the anonymous SEC Employee hotline We think it's time to report Gary to HR once and for all. You can make a 100% anonymous complaint against Gary on the petition page we've made Write how you feel about Gary (can be funny or serious, but CAN'T use violent or racist language). UNFK will have the funniest complaints read in Gary's voice at his office in DC (yes, you read that right) And in this fight for freedom of arts, we’re deploying the most potent weapon we have: Art itself. The gran maestro @beeple will be monitoring the complaints you write to Gary Gensler. And has offered to put the funniest into an Everyday. That’s right… your words could be immortalized… as we call out Gary for harassing hardworking artists. 3) Share this post and campaign to spread the word Once you’re done, come back here and blast this post to EVERYONE. Actually, do it right now. Repost it. Comment. Text it to your grandma. Let’s take the fight to Gary Gensler and the SEC. Scroll up, sign the petition now, and let’s get to work.
OpenSea has received a Wells notice from the SEC threatening to sue us because they believe NFTs on our platform are securities. We're shocked the SEC would make such a sweeping move against creators and artists. But we're ready to stand up and fight. Cryptocurrencies have long been in the crosshairs of the SEC, and companies like @coinbase, @Uniswap, @RobinhoodApp, @krakenfx, and @Consensys have been fighting against the SEC's single-track approach of "regulation by enforcement." But this is a move into uncharted territory. By targeting NFTs, the SEC would stifle innovation on an even broader scale: hundreds of thousands of online artists and creatives are at risk, and many do not have the resources to defend themselves. NFTs are fundamentally creative goods: art, collectibles, video game items, domain names, event tickets, and more. We should not regulate digital art in the same way we regulate collateralized debt obligations. As we've built OpenSea, we've heard so many stories about the impact of NFTs on people’s lives, including: • Student artists finding full-time careers in selling their digital art • Indie game developers instantly enabling open markets for their in-game items, without having to build marketplaces from scratch • Passionate collectors from different corners of the world joining new communities, all centered around shared digital ownership It would be a terrible outcome if creators stopped making digital art because of regulatory saber-rattling. Take, for example, the suit filed against the SEC by the musician @songadaymann and conceptual artist @brianlfrye, which describes their fear that the sale of their art and music could be deemed unregistered securities offerings. In addition to standing our own ground, we're pledging $5M to help cover legal fees for NFT creators and devs that receive a Wells notice. Every creator, big or small, should be able to innovate without fear. I hope the SEC will come to its senses sooner rather than later, and that they'll listen with an open mind. Until then, we'll stand up and fight for our industry. Onwards 🌊⛵️

Sometimes we need to cleanse our souls. We can wash the waste away on the outside but what matters is what’s inside. Laying bear our own truths will makes us realize the beauty of the monsters that are inside us all. @allseeingseneca (trace by @TransientLabs) Atonement, 2024

This solo show at Uncommon Gallery in Seoul is the 4th completely non-commercial showing of Human Unreadable since its release in May 2023. In a space that seems to only think of the importance of storytelling or giving context when there is money to be made, we want to say (specifically positioned as artists who previously for years spent months on elaborate productions we couldn’t make a cent on) a sale should be in service of story, not story in service of a sale. Just because we aren’t selling the work anymore does not mean its message is any less important nor meaningful to us. Each new person we speak to about it highlights new facets of the work, often that we didn’t think about. The reason why we make art is because we want to see it in the world, see it reach people, inspire new ideas, create new possibilities, and we know we are lucky to be able to self-invest in sharing our vision and message with audiences all over the world without the pressure to urgently create and sell something else just to get to the next month. We don’t take that for granted and are thankful for everyone who has supported our work either through collecting, being a supporter, sharing, sending a kind message, attending a talk or performance, being a good friend. Thanks for reading.

“LEGALIZE AGGRESSIVELY LONG BATHS” - @toadswiback We did our best pawn stars impression, safely brokering a trade to have Die join the legendary Squiggle community. Using a single on chain transaction for his art, using the new broker contract by @blockparty. “Flesh Jacuzzi”
have wanted a few actual meaty looking fuckers for a long time. traded a dear piece of mine “flesh jacuzzi,” to the god of soaking red beard and his bathers at WCC. having gotten to know sno over the past few years, feels fucking awesome to finally hoard a few of these bastards.
