Words matter. They stick. They last a lifetime. They shape who we are and who we become.
Together we can end verbal abuse of children so they can thrive.
Let's build children up, not knock them down.

It’s Neurodiversity Celebration Week - a time to embrace and celebrate the unique strengths and differences that make each person special.
Looking for guidance? We have a helpful resource here bit.ly/4kC8BX1 about how to talk to neurodivergent children and young people. It was developed by our neurodiversity experts, including @narowlansky , @avnon_julia, @commaficionado and @FintanORegan.
It is part of a set of supportive resources we’ve created with Dr Fiona Pienaar to help talk to children in a way that will build them up.
Let’s champion understanding, kindness, and inclusivity this week and beyond.

The ‘power of yet,’ introduced by Stanford psychologist Carol Dweck, highlights how a simple shift in language can change mindsets. Adding 'yet' to 'I can’t do this' - turning it into 'I can’t do this yet'- reminds us that growth is always possible.
Dweck’s research shows that seeing challenges as temporary helps children (and adults) stay motivated and persistent. Let’s embrace the power of yet and nurture growth in ourselves and the children around us.

This Empathy Week, let’s remember to always listen, understand, and support children and one another. Put yourself in someone else’s shoes - because a little kindness and compassion goes a long way.
