If she needed him, she would say "babe come hold the baby." She didn't. She wanted content. Is he supposed to stand behind her like a clingy security guard? Staring at her while she holds the baby so strangers on the internet will say he is a good father? If he stands there doing nothing, they will still say "why is he just standing there? Why is he not helping?" If he goes to work, they say "he is never home." If he stays home and plays a game for 10 minutes while the baby is calm and safe with its mother, they say "he is useless." The truth is simple: A MAN IS NOT ALLOWED TO REST. If the baby needed him, he would be there. The baby did NOT need him. The mother had the baby. The baby was fine. So he took some me-time. That's what a normal family does. One parent holds the baby, the other rests for a few minutes. Then you switch. But she had to make it look like she was suffering alone so the internet would attack him. If she was truly struggling, the phone would not be recording. She would not have time to set up the camera, squeeze her face, and cry on cue.
