Comparison of closest distance between crossings for Radyr and ‘through roads’ for nearby areas. An absolute disgrace. Can someone tell me what the ppl of Radyr have done to deserve such unfairness in terms of basic road safety? @cardiffcouncil @huwthomas_Wales @CaroWild

@cardiffcouncil any chance you could recalibrate the speed repeater on Heol Isaf near @RadyrPrimarySch ? It’s still showing green right up to 30mph and the road has now been changed to a 20mph limit. Many thanks

@cardiffcouncil any chance of an update on the above please? It is really undermining the new 20 zone that you installed to have the speed repeater showing green up to 30 mph

For some reason, the Welsh Government is refusing to publish specific, localised data about where coronavirus cases are in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿. This is bizarre and seems to go against the principle of being as open as possible that they've trumpeted since the start of the crisis. (Dry) thread:

So being 10 cases per 100k less than the Wales wide average gets you into a local lockdown now?🧐 Things are moving fast

👏👏 This is probably the only HGV in South Wales that doesn’t go along the <7.5 tonne limit through Radyr
Earlier this month @SWP_Roads officers carried out patrols using a heavy goods vehicle to target & educate on driving offences #OpTramline. These included: 🚗 Speeding 🍺 Drink or drug driving 📱 Using a mobile phone ❌ Not wearing a seatbelt 🚙 Driving carelessly #Fatal5 ^jc

Never did get an answer to this did we @KevinBrennanMP
Yes why is that Kevin? Why is it that Radyr primary and Radyr comp are the only two schools in Cardiff that don’t have tabled crossings outside?! Even after planned improvements this issue will remain! Why do kids here have an increased risk crossing road outside their school?

It certainly is in Radyr @cardiffcouncil @carowild : 🚨 furthest distance between safe crossings of any Cardiff suburb 🚨 81% speeding rate 🚨 only schools in Cardiff with ‘non-tabled’ crossings outside 🚨 endless illegal HGVs using narrow village road as a shortcut to @plasdwr
Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Jenny Harries says the is of your child dying in a road traffic accident “is probably higher than their risk from #COVID”. Especially if Dominic Cummings is behind the wheel! #schoolsreopening #Corona #COVID19 #BackToSchool

No! Unacceptable! If they’re going to shake the living daylights out of people’s homes in Morganstown with their blasting then the very least they can do is let people have a look!

Putting kids on one of those through radyr would be like sending them to their deaths!

Schools back Monday. Unfortunately Radyr is one of the few areas in Cardiff not to get new covid safety measures around schools and of course we remain the only area without tabled crossings outside schools... @cardiffcouncil @CaroWild really look out for us like that. Be safe!
Radyr has the only ‘non-tabled’ pedestrian crossings outside it’s schools in the entirety of Cardiff. It will take more than a global pandemic to right that glaring inequality it would seem. Yet again Radyr absent from road safety improvements! @CaroWild @KevinBrennanMP
A series of new school traffic schemes will be put in place so that social distancing can be maintained safely, when schools reopen from Monday. 27 schools will have road closures and some schools will have pavements widened or temporary speed limits. orlo.uk/u9jox

... and gosh what a shock! Absolutely sweet F.A. for the safety of schoolchildren in Radyr in this lot. Pretty much everywhere else in Cardiff of course! @huwthomas_Wales @CaroWild @KevinBrennanMP @MarkDrakeford

Very slowly, but very surely... we will get there! It took a global pandemic to shift the balance between cars vs cyclists/pedestrians ever so slightly towards where it ought to be... but it’s still not safe. Let’s hope @cardiffcouncil @CaroWild build on this for Radyr residents.
We can confirm that the public consultation was undertaken for the proposal, with objections being received. Therefore the necessary Officer Decision Report adressing the grounds for objections has been prepared and is currently progressing through the internal consultation...

Time to revisit all of it @huwthomas_Wales @carowild @MarkDrakeford . 50% public transport use @plasdwr was a joke to begin with... but now it would win the Edinburgh fringe!

Ferguson’s forecasting should always be put in context of his past predictions. On BSE and F&M he was wrong and now on Covid-19 he is trying to rewrite history.#Covid19UK

@carowild @cardiffcouncil why is the 20 zone TRO for Radyr still showing as ‘in consultation’? The consultation close date was in January 🤷‍♂️

20mph speed limit zones are being introduced in more residential areas around #Cardiff, with road signage guys working on Ty Gwyn Road today. Think soon it’ll be like they were always there and it’ll seem weird to have ever driven at 30 along some roads.
