We’ve published our interim report gov.uk/government/news/inter… following a collision between two passenger trains near Elstow, Bedfordshire, 19 June 2026.
This provides an update of our findings and the ongoing investigation.
#Elstow #Bedford

ALT Two maroon liveried trains stand nose to tail having collided. The cab of the rearmost train is badly damaged, and the leading train has derailed to the left of the line. A signal gantry spanning the four running lines is visible in the distance. An embankment falls away to the right of the lines.

NEW | There are multiple indications that fighting between the US and Iran & its partners may expand imminently.
A CNN analyst reported that Trump deliberated and reviewed strike options against the Houthis in a meeting at Camp David yesterday. Trump notably returned to Washington, DC, a day earlier than scheduled. The US Department of State separately issued a security alert for the Middle East yesterday, citing the "potential for unforeseen escalation."
Iranian military institutions have also signaled that they are anticipating an imminent escalation. Iran's highest operational headquarters claimed that it received intelligence that the United States plans to resume striking Iran. The regime has also reportedly placed its military forces on high alert in anticipation of US strikes.
Iran's highest operational HQ warned that Iran would attack US bases & interests in the region if the US attacks Iran. The HQ warned regional countries that Iran will not exercise "restraint or decency" if they support US strikes on Iran, likely to try to pressure these countries to discourage Trump from approving any kind of attack on Iran.
These developments come after the Houthis attacked Riyadh, the Saudi capital, for the first time. The attack was part of the ongoing Houthi campaign to maximize political and economic costs on Saudi Arabia to force the kingdom to acquiesce to Houthi demands. Saudi Arabia has previously urged the US to conduct strikes against the Houthis to undermine the Houthi campaign against Saudi Arabia.
The Houthis also continue to fight Yemeni-government aligned forces in Yemen as part of this campaign. Saudi media, citing unspecified military and local sources, claimed today that Yemeni government-aligned forces seized Jabal Naman in Taiz Governorate. ISW-CTP previously assessed that Houthi efforts to surround the city of Taiz support the Houthis' near-term economic objectives and long-term objective of controlling all of Yemen. (1/2)

There is no shortage of issues regarding FIFA. Let me start by clarifying what some of these are from an FA perspective, in particular that of Jordan going into a World Cup for the first time.
We are a small country with a minimal budget for our FA and had to deal with enormous hurdles. First, getting our fans into the USA: not all were granted VISAS, even though they had tickets -which we also know were sold at exorbitant prices. Secondly, we are being taxed by the US govt through FIFA for our participation. Money that should go to players and staff. This was not the case for those who played and set up camp in Canada and Mexico. But we happened to be in the USA so now we face these huge costs in taxes for having participated.
Thirdly we have been waiting for reward money for our players since December for the Arab cup in Qatar, which is a FIFA event. The money our team should receive for having reached the final has not been delivered yet, while at the same time FIFA brags about how many billions they have in reserve.
It is clear the problem really is with leadership. For months, FIFA has been refusing to help us on any of these or other matters- until it was verbally communicated to me during the World Cup that if I endorsed Infantino it would go a long way to helping our FA out.
We pride ourselves in Jordan in upholding ethical values. We did not endorse him before and certainly will not now. But the whole situation amounts to blackmail and we refuse to give in to that.
Loved this piece by Martin Samuel. He's right, the FA and UEFA are finally on the right side of history - but have lets not forget their past appeasement of FIFA and Infantino.

I do feel that if the Balogun incident hadn't happened, this whole #FIFA saga wouldn't be half as noisy as it has been. #Infantino
If Infantino’s senior advisor had no involvement with FIFA’s proposal, who did? #FIFA #Infantino
It’ll be interesting to see how Infantino responds. Will he back down? Or will he spin a narrative or UEFA blocking advancement of other countries? #UEFA #FIFA #Infantino
