He’s still in physical therapy. Still got chronic pains and headaches. His joints still click like they’re broken. His eyesight’s still shot. He should be glad he even landed an interview for an article. He should ignore the sirens outside. …but what the hell? Only live once.

β€œWay ahead of you, buddy.” Good thing he keeps a nice, cold bottle stashed away with his powers. Nobody ever said he had to use them for pure altruism. β€œSee you soon, then?”
"With times like these, Wren? Its hard to say now..." A chuckle could be heard from Dante's side. Can't imagine how busy Hummer's life has gotten. "Be sure to get some liquor to share. I imagine Leo might wanna join in."

It’s been a while now since the incident. He’s still attending physical therapyβ€” getting to a better point, slowly but surely. But he can’t help wondering what’s next. Will he return to the β€œmasked hero” lifestyle? Is he even cut out for it? After what happened, he doubts he is.

β€œMy memory’s not /that/ bad, Dante.” First honest joke he’s made in ages. It feels good to hear from someone familiar instead of stewing in his issues alone. β€œWorks for me. Can’t remember the last time I did something normal like that.”
"Hey. Long time no hear. Hope you remember me." Of course it was under a new number, but Dante's voice rings out all the same. "Hope to catch up soon. Maybe at the coffee bar?"

Rough timing. But isn’t it always with lives like theirs? Phone call’s picked up, Wren’s voice answering quietly. β€œHello?”
Calling up @WriterOfSleight seems like a bad idea. Seeing as their last conversation was cut short. But better to try than not.
