Most of what we have been told about cholesterol is wrong, and in many cases, the opposite of the truth.

To most people, a fresh loaf of bread straight out of the oven is a beautiful thing. To me, this "loaf" of grass-fed beef bottom round roast straight out of the Instant Pot is a beautiful thing.

As a medical school professor, I teach about APOE4 -- the gene that makes you 2.5x more likely to develop Alzheimer's. We've told patients there's nothing they can do about it. A new JAMA Network Open study of 2,157 adults just proved us wrong. Higher meat consumption completely abolished the APOE4 dementia risk. The data: -> APOE4 carriers with highest meat intake: 55% lower dementia risk -> Their typical 2.5x excess Alzheimer's risk? Gone entirely -> Cognitive decline reversed: +0.32 standard deviations over 10 years -> Unprocessed meat was protective; processed meat was harmful regardless of genotype Researchers propose APOE4 is an evolutionary adaptation to meat-rich diets. The gene isn't a defect -- we just stopped feeding it correctly. This is personalized metabolic medicine. Your genes load the gun, but your diet pulls the trigger -- or puts the safety back on. Full breakdown coming on the Health Longevity Secrets podcast. Source: jamanetwork.com/journals/jam… #APOE4 #Alzheimers #MetabolicHealth #Nutrition #HealthLongevity

Have social media "influencers" got you fearful of oxalates? You may have noticed the recent "trend" slamming foods that are high in oxalates, but for healthy people who exercise regularly, the whole thing is BS. Here's how to not get sucked in. 🧵THREAD 👇

When we talk about protein quality, it's not about being anti plant or pro animal for the sake of it. It comes down to one thing: how much of a given food do you actually need to eat to stimulate muscle protein synthesis? Your body requires a specific dose of the amino acid leucine per meal to flip the switch on that process, and different protein sources deliver that leucine in very different caloric packages. A small serving of whey or beef gets you there efficiently, while something like quinoa might require several cups and significantly more calories to reach the same threshold. These aren't opinions, they're biological numbers. And they matter, because 100% of people do this one thing every single day: they eat. How you think about the protein on your plate is directly tied to how you're going to age, how you're going to feel, and how well your muscle is going to serve you over time. So wherever you are in your protein journey, the most important step is simply getting enough. Pick your sources, prioritize quality when you can, and make sure you're hitting at least 30 grams of protein at your key meals. Dr. Gabrielle

I am now able to transition from an X flag to a legit human flag. It's still kind of ugly, but at least I can hold it now for more than three seconds to make it official. I will have this cleaned up nicely by my 60th birthday in May.

Your muscles are always listening to how you live. They grow when challenged, weaken when ignored, and recover when you rest properly. Strength is not built in workouts alone, but in sleep, nutrition, and consistency. 📹: xavork

This is why I grow broccoli sprouts and eat them daily. Here's my kit: amzn.to/4bm6lBf And here are the seeds I use: amzn.to/4rrhp50
Sulforaphane boosts our natural cellular defenses. It does this by activating Nrf2, our body's primary detoxification, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant pathway. Nrf2 turns on phase 2 detoxification enzymes, helping us deal with daily toxic exposure from air pollution, smoke, fungus, and plastic chemicals, and turns off enzymes that convert pro-carcinogens into carcinogens (known as phase 1 biotransformation enzymes). Nrf2 also up-regulates glutathione, the brain and body's primary and most potent antioxidant. The best sources are a high-quality supplement or broccoli sprouts (which are a concentrated source of the sulforaphane precursor glucoraphanin).

Cancer might be more preventable than we think—it’s often our lifestyle choices and diet that fuel it. By cutting down on glucose and glutamine through fasting or a low-carb diet, we can starve tumor cells and let our healthy cells thrive. Maintaining healthy mitochondria with exercise, fasting, and improved dietary choices can be a powerful strategy.

Finally! The FDA is revealing the truth about food!
FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary says the FDA has intentionally been lying to us for 16 years about fat being bad for you He says this allowed Big Pharma to sell more drugs “They suppressed the data for 16 years. Two other large studies failed to show an association. Finally, the study trickled out in the medical literature. Nobody noticed it. Those in the low-fat group had higher rates of heart attacks. Why? Maybe because when you avoid fat, you have to pound food with carbohydrates and often ultra-processed carbohydrates stripped of fiber and chopped up at functions like sugar. We created a generation of children with low protein, high carbohydrates, sugar addiction, and burdened with ultra-processed foods, and what did we do as a medical field? Drugged them at scale. Those days are over. We are telling people the truth about food.”

Collagen is often dismissed as a "beauty" supplement, but as an anti-aging researcher, I look for systemic markers. In my testing, only Great Lakes and Orgain moved the needle, significantly accelerating hair and nail growth with 1-2 scoops daily. 🧵THREAD 👇

I spent decades eating the Standard American Diet. And no matter how much I ate, I never experienced true satiety. Turns out that was by design. Everything changed when I stopped eating what the food industry wanted to sell me and started eating what my body actually needed: real protein, real nutrients, real energy. A simple meal like this? Two beef patties, 4 slices of real cheese, real fuel. And by the time I finish it, the wave of satiety is almost euphoric. Something I never once experienced on the Standard American Diet. If you think you’re broken, you’re not. But you’re diet likely is.
