Some early Xbox things. It took me years to source these. The most scarce being the polo, ping pong ball and 1st generation hammerhead controller.
Today I had the opportunity to sit with someone who was an integral part of designing the original cover art for Halo: Combat Evolved. He provided me with 13 never before seen concept covers. I plan to share all of them in due time as I continue to gather and document the story.

These sample Xbox Vans go well with this World Championship of Skateboarding shirt! I’m not sure about the origins of the shoes, but I’ve only ever seen two pairs. Any Xbox folks know?

Live Turns Five controller! These were commissioned by Microsoft to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Xbox Live. I know some press received the controller but not sure who else would have received one. #xbox
New arrival: Unnamed prototype Xbox Duke controller. I believe this is the same shell/jewel revision as the one located at the @museumofplay.
I’ve been swamped with work projects but I’m still actively working on preservation. More coming tomorrow!
I was finally able to track down a VC820 motherboard for the Xbox Alpha I development kit! Still need the center jewel for for the front panel. Getting this thing complete one piece at a time.
Had to hang the @survivetheark poster. Spent hours and hours playing Ark PVP on Xbox. It’s one of my all-time favorite games and deserves a spot on the wall. Besides, the artwork is amazing! 🙂
Rare display piece that was on display only at E3 2001. This Project Gotham Racing cover featured the Twin Towers. Due to the events that took place on 9/11, the decision was made to change the final cover artwork. Thanks to Cory Alexander for the opportunity to share this!
So after months of searching I was finally able to track down a factory sealed Halo CE which I admittedly paid A LOT of money for. Well @FedEx decided to open it...cellophane gone, security label cut. You pay for the highest tier service and you get tampering/vandalism.
