Apparently, losing the midterms was supposed to turn Donald Trump into a housebroken little Republican, obediently fetching bipartisan approval while Democrats kicked his administration in the teeth.
Washington's surrender caucus had the whole thing figured out. Democrats would take Congress, unleash their subpoena factories, investigate Trump's administration, political allies, and organizations, and spend two years turning Capitol Hill into a taxpayer-funded revenge carnival. Meanwhile, Republicans would demonstrate their legendary commitment to statesmanship by smiling politely while getting their asses handed to them.
What a magnificent fucking arrangement.
The establishment's preferred response to political defeat is always the same: lower your expectations, soften your agenda, apologize for offending the opposition, and pretend the people preparing your political execution are potential negotiating partners.
And God forbid anyone questions this brilliant strategy. That's when the professional compromise merchants start lecturing everyone about maturity, decorum, and the sacred importance of reaching across the aisle to shake hands with someone holding a subpoena.
Enter Stephen Miller.
Trump just handed the White House chief of staff's office to a man who has spent a decade mastering executive authority, immigration enforcement, bureaucratic warfare, and legal confrontation. Miller has openly challenged judges obstructing deportation policies, advocated aggressive action against drug cartels, and helped shape American policy toward Venezuela.
Exactly the sort of résumé that makes Washington's ceremonial surrender brigade break out in a cold sweat.
With Trump's legislative agenda stalled and Democrats preparing their congressional investigation circus, Miller's elevation sends an unmistakable message: the remaining two years won't be spent begging Democrats for permission to govern.
Naturally, the Republican establishment would prefer another dignified retreat, preferably accompanied by a thoughtful op-ed explaining why surrender demonstrates extraordinary courage.
Unfortunately for Washington's professional surrender merchants, Stephen Miller walked into the chief of staff's office without their sacred instruction manual.
And the poor bastards are about to discover their entire political philosophy has been reduced to a stack of fucking scrap paper.

NYPD Officers Stop Woman Walking Her Dog at 3 AM in Manhattan Bystanders Intervene
Around 3 a.m. in Murray Hill, two NYPD officers stopped a woman walking her small leashed dog. She said she had the walk signal and repeatedly asked what law she broke. One officer briefly held her arm while they discussed a possible summons. Bystanders filmed, called 911, and demanded a supervisor. The dog was never taken.
The long clip shows officers struggling to clearly state the exact violation. No official statement has confirmed the basis for the stop. Claims about the officers’ religion or motive come only from appearance and captions, not the footage itself take a look what do you see?
When a 3 a.m. stop requires bystanders to step in and officers can’t immediately explain the law do they make them up as they go?

A man was lying on a California sidewalk, bleeding from his head, as another man stood over him holding two knives. A mother driving past screamed for the attacker to stop, but he warned her to leave.
Then he raised the knives again. And instead of driving away, she jumped out of her car and ran straight toward him.
Amanda Williams grabbed the attacker’s wrist, stopping him from stabbing the injured man again. But he suddenly turned on her, shoving her into the street and against her car. Amanda refused to let go, fighting until she managed to wrestle both knives from his hands.
She had stopped the attack, but what happened next caught her completely off guard. The man jumped into her still-running car and sped away, leaving Amanda stranded beside the stranger she’d just saved.
Police eventually caught the suspect, but Amanda’s car was wrecked. When a local foundation heard that the single mother and DoorDash driver had lost her vehicle saving someone’s life, they surprised her with a replacement.
But the most touching words came from Roscell Wallace, the man whose life she saved.
“She’s like an angel. God sent her to save me.”
Amanda risked her own life for a stranger. Her courage deserves to be celebrated.

Yesterday I ran into a woman who signed the Stay Free Alberta petition. She was very upset at the outcome. She and her husband are a young couple with twins. She is very distraught that they will never have a chance at a good life. I can say with certainty, they are struggling too.
They were let down by all the greedy option 1 voters who say "everything is fine because it's fine for me". Those are the people who disgust me most.
Meanwhile, I said to her, have no doubt that we are not giving up. It's not over. We just have more work to do. She lit up a bit and we arranged to talk more in the near future.
These are the people we are doing this for. Two young people working their tails off just to get by, raising two little kids and have little hope their situation will improve ever.
This is the travesty that 12 years of Liberal incompetent and destructive rule has brought to Alberta's door. The province with the most potential can't work for two hard working people.
Stay Free Alberta woke up a lot of people. The even harder times that are on the way should wake up a few more. With each job loss, missed rent or mortgage payment, higher price for basics at the grocery store... People will wake up...
