The Arab-Islamic slave trade began in the 7th century and didn't fully end until the early 20th century. Over those 1,300 years, an estimated 10 to 18 million Africans were taken from the continent, marched across the Sahara or shipped across the Indian Ocean. It outlasted the transatlantic slave trade by more than three centuries, and by some estimates moved more people overall. THE PROCEDURE A large share of the men taken were castrated, mainly to serve as eunuchs guarding harems, households, and royal courts. The operation was performed with primitive tools and little to no medical care. Mortality estimates vary, but most historians describe it as extremely high, with many accounts putting the death rate at over half. THE RESULT Enslaved women, unlike the men, frequently had children, often with the men who enslaved them. Surviving castrated men could not. Historians point to this as a central reason the African diaspora across the Middle East and North Africa is so much smaller today than in the Americas, despite a trade that ran for over a millennium. It wasn't only the men who died in the procedure or on the journey. It was every child who was never born after them. WHAT'S LEFT Small Afro-Arab communities still exist today in places like Iraq, Yemen, and the Gulf states, descended from those who survived. Compared to the millions taken over thirteen centuries, what remains is a fraction of what those numbers would suggest.

I'm only going to write this from the Iranian perspective, as I can't speak for Israelis: Countless Iranians inside and outside Iran risked everything - safety, lives, and wellbeing - to support Israel in its wars against the islamic regime. Iranians have put everything on the line because Netanyahu declared he will bring the regime down. If after tomorrow Israel's (hopefully not) new leadership suddenly pulls back and disregards all these sacrifices, this election will be regarded as a massive betrayal by so many Iranians. Mélenchon : le cauchemar de la confiscation. Attention, version longue ! Je viens d’écouter l’entretien de Jean-Luc Mélenchon avec François Lenglet. Et je dois l’avouer : j’en suis sorti terrifié. Profondément terrifié. Car Mélenchon ne parle jamais à la légère. C’est un idéologue cultivé, méthodique, qui connaît parfaitement l’histoire des révolutions. Lorsqu’il invoque Robespierre pour relativiser le droit de propriété, je l’écoute avec la plus grande attention. « La conception que vous avez de la propriété n’est plus supportable », affirme-t-il. Il annonce des réquisitions immobilières, notamment de bureaux inoccupés. Son programme prévoit également de limiter à cinq le nombre de logements transmissibles par héritage, l’État réquisitionnant les biens excédentaires. Le principe est posé : l’État entend décider de ce que vous pouvez conserver et transmettre. Mais jusqu’où ira-t-on ? Aujourd’hui les bureaux vides, demain les résidences secondaires, après-demain les maisons jugées trop grandes pour leurs occupants ? Ce n’est pas ce qu’il annonce, mais c’est la dérive qui est totalement inévitable. Les bureaux vides ne suffiront pas pour 5% du nécessaire ! Imaginons un couple d’ouvriers ayant travaillé quarante ans, parfois au SMIC, remboursé son crédit pendant vingt-cinq ans, sacrifié ses vacances pour devenir enfin propriétaire à soixante ans. Cette maison, c’est toute une vie. Ce sont des milliers d’heures de travail, des privations, des souvenirs. Qui pourrait légitimement décider qu’elle est devenue trop grande depuis le départ des enfants ? Mélenchon évoque avec une désinvolture glaçante les propriétaires qui craignent de perdre la valeur de leur patrimoine, parfois destiné à compléter leur retraite. « Chacun sort son violon », ironise-t-il. 🤢🤢 Quel mépris pour ceux qui ont économisé toute leur existence ! Et l’héritage ? Depuis des années, certains voudraient le taxer toujours davantage, voire en remettre profondément en cause le principe. Même la macronie… À quoi bon travailler, économiser et se priver si transmettre le fruit de ses efforts devient suspect ? Aujourd’hui, une majorité de ménages français sont encore propriétaires. Mais demain ? Lorsque les nouvelles générations, de plus en plus exclues de l’accession à la propriété, seront majoritaires, quelle tentation politique représentera la promesse de redistribuer les biens des autres ? Les très grandes fortunes disposeront toujours d’avocats, de fiscalistes et de moyens pour s’adapter. Mais le petit propriétaire ? Celui qui possède simplement sa maison et quelques économies ? C’est lui qui risque de devenir la victime d’une politique prétendument destinée à combattre les riches. J’en arrive même à me demander s’il ne faudra pas, un jour, maintenant, vendre son patrimoine et quitter la France avant qu’il ne soit trop tard. Je n’aurais jamais imaginé devoir envisager une telle éventualité. L’histoire des régimes collectivistes devrait pourtant nous instruire. Et me Lorsque l’État prétend décider souverainement de ce que chacun peut posséder, la liberté individuelle devient dangereusement fragile. Car la propriété privée n’est pas seulement une question d’argent. C’est une protection contre l’arbitraire, une indépendance, la possibilité de ne pas dépendre entièrement du pouvoir politique. Je ne prétends pas que Mélenchon annonce aujourd’hui la confiscation des maisons familiales. Mais sa conception de la propriété ouvre, à mes yeux, une perspective profondément inquiétante. Et je pose une question simple : à qui appartient le fruit de quarante années de travail ? À celui qui a travaillé ou à l’État qui prétend savoir mieux que lui ce qu’il doit en faire ? Voilà pourquoi cet entretien m’a terrifié. Parce que le jour où posséder honnêtement ce que l’on a gagné ne sera plus un droit, mais une faveur accordée par l’État, nous aurons perdu bien davantage que nos maisons. Nous aurons perdu une part essentielle de notre liberté.

In the 1.300 years of Muslim-Arab slave trade, approximately a million Greek Christians were sold as slaves. Greek girls who were pretty were forced into prostitution after being enslaved to Turks who took all their earnings. Women captives were known to be subjected to sexual abuse. After Chios Massacre (March 30, 1822) where the Muslim Turks slaughtered 42.000 Christian Greeks, 52.000 women and children were sold as slaves in the markets of Smyrna & Constantinople. On September 1, 1821, Samothrace was devastated by the Ottomans through a general massacre, 10.000 men & boys were slaughtered while women & children were sold also in the markets of Constantinople & Smyrna. Only those who converted to Islam survived. On July 14, 1821, 486 Greeks of Cyprus were publicly beheaded because they didn't convert to Islam. On 13-22 September 1922, thousands of women (Greeks and Armenians) were mass raped and slaughtered in Smyrna from the Islamic horde, the Young Turks, who were motivated by racial and religious hatred. Only those who converted to Islam survived. They aimed the Christians of Anatolia and tried to erase our Greek footprint. They failed. On 6-7 of September 1955, during the Constantinople pogroms, Muslim Turks committed rapes againt the Greek community of the City. Hundreds of women expelled and raped. Now there is a minotiry of less than 2.000 Greeks living in the city that their ancestors found, Constantinople. In 1974, the Muslim Turks invaded the island of Cyprus and raped in the name of their god thousands of Greek women from 12 to 71 years old. Even the Church of Cyprus had consented through its tolerance to the amendment of the legislation in 1974, so that the abortions of that period became legal. Women captives were known to be subjected to sexual abuse. Male Muslims were given the right to have sex with female captives (slaves), which was phrased: "those men who guard their genitals, except with their wives and those whom their right hands possess, for then there is no blame" (Quran 23:6), which granted men the right to have sex not only with their wives but also with female captive slaves. Islam is an enemy for every woman. Anyone who willingly supports the Islamic invasion against native Europeans is a traitor to his or her own kind and ancestors.
