Happy New Year! Just before Christmas we attended the @TheSAHGB Annual Awards Ceremony to accept the newly created Colvin Special Award - a fantastic way to end 2025.
Many thanks to @thesahgb for the photograph of the event.

A week tomorrow I'll be in Stoke-on-Trent. Of all the cities I've wandered in this year, (indeed, of all large British cities), this is the one I know least about. Obviously, @YalePevsner is full of ideas, but I'd be grateful for suggestions from anyone who knows the place (and I'm also planning a visit next door to Newcastle-under-Lyme).

The wonderful new @YalePevsner guide to Staffordshire alerted me to it, & it is wonderful yet sad memorial to Stoke’s cavalier approach to demolition in recent decades.
