The part that's easy to miss on a Caravan gear leg is the area around the fuselage attach fitting. Corrosion or a crack there can hide under paint and sealant for a long time, and a normal walkaround won't show it.

After Hamilton saying he enjoys the bumps still he was not able to get a podium as compared to the quick Leclerc.
I suspect he may not have had a good setup that could survive the bumps or maybe he underestimated the havoc those bumps cause.
