I mean, just an all-time TV segment. Making Chuck do Who He Play For multiple times in a row with the same players is a brilliant idea and I was legit crying laughing by the end, my god.

this was one of the funniest plays of the week for a variety of reasons.
he's accelerating out of bounds! lol

I mean look at this itās just an awful angle thereās a lot more yards there without having to take any extra contact

This is a longtime tracking/positioning issue since his days at Arkansas. This is why athletes get overrated annually.
If you attack at the earliest point away from your frame and position your body in anticipation to turn away from the defender, you can shield the defender from the ball with your back and your reach. Burks can leap, but he doens't know when, how, or why to position his body. The best WRs know how to position their frame and extend first with the arms before leaving their feet. Usually if they jump first, it's a tracking issue -- they don't find the ball fast enough or have an ingrained plan.
every now and then i still get legitimately surprised by how many people have certain takes.
legit shocked how many people are defending this (on the grounds it's necessary to shield the defender, which is a benefit but does not outweigh the cost when you are still elevating at the catch point and have this much hangtime, this close to the sideline).
legit can't imagine seeing great contested catch WRs like evans/adams/chase doing something like this.
not shocked to be called dumb on here, but shocked so many people see this play and convince themselves one benefit outweighs what it comes with. (it's actually incredible how close burks came to completing this play, because that high up he was basically dead in the water. and again, it's just definitely not the right way to go about approaching a high throw, regardless of how extending invites a potential breakup. it's a tough play either way, but the latter is way, way easier to complete.)
why did he jump so high? i write a lot about WRs making hard plays look easy, and easy plays look harder.
not saying he makes the catch otherwise, but i know this isn't optimal.
LOS was the 14. speedster geno gets what? 3 yards here? tim patrick is selling out for it.
except it's OPI when geno finds the wide tf open omar cooper for a TD.
would've been better if patrick did literally nothing, like every WR who can't block would've done.
Tim Patrick is such a good blocking WR he started blocking downfield when Geno had extended but was still a full 5 yards behind the LOS with no real angle to scramble, so Omar Cooper lost his first career TD to an OPI (but got it later!)
Teams play the darnedest players

100%
Just so interesting how it happens sometimes. On the flipside, you'll be watching a game and you'll hear that Tim Patrick has a catch.
Such a wild league when you think about it!
The story is āNajee Harris released for criticizing rotationā
but it should be
āSolid effort from Najee Harris to handwave how terrible heās been, legit props for trying, but coaching staff isnāt blindā
This guy wasnāt explosive before he was coming back from an Achilles and has looked unplayable since preseason reps, the only surprise is it went on this long (and it honestly looks terrible they thought he might be an answer as recently as last week)
Yeah itās a bummer the way it ends but strongly suspect heās done. Only saving grace is teams tend to draw from a narrower pool of recently active players than they probably should, for depth roles (agent relationships, etc.). So might wind up somewhere, but wonāt do anything.

Wild how some players just disappear out of the league sometimes. Like what deal is going to pick up Najee at this point.

Nestled all the way at the bottom of @YardsPerGretch's RB air yards article this offseason was a note about Kyren Williams' air yards.
2026's leaders in running back air yards:
Kyren Williams - 110
Ashton Jeanty - 63
Christian McCaffrey - 54
Jahmyr Gibbs - 51
