Scottish alcohol deaths fall and now lowest since 2019 but BBC Scotland employs the notorious 'colonial comparison' to turn it into a negative. Scotland must always be presented as failing, backward and worse than England.

BBC BritNat never ran an article on the new figures yesterday showing a fall in alcohol deaths in Scotland. Instead the station has headlined the small rise in deaths amongst women. This is the second top story on the BBC BritNat website.

The most immoral army continues to slaughter children. Nearly daily. UN bodies and human rights groups have documented the pattern in detail. Anyone who denies it should read these reports. We keep receipts and there will be accountability. #PalestineTrials

Anyone concerned about the BBC in Scotland needs to listen to this interview. We challenge any of the BBC's supporters to defend this.
Lucy Whyte has just conducted one of the most tabloid and shallow interviews we've ever heard on BBC Scotland. What should be an interview about the FM's trip to India turns into a trolling session that never lets up. She just goads and goads and goads. Infantile trash.

MSM and the unionists who have been demanding for weeks that the SG devolves more powers to Councils is now demanding that the SG should take responsibility for blocked drains. Blocked drains! You simply cannot make this shite up.

STV reporter Vanessa Taaffe tonight accused Stephen Flynn of paving over drains in Largs. Moronic doesn't begin to cover this so-called question. Victims of the storm deserve better than a cheap jibe designed to provoke a reaction from the transport minister. Do better STV.

More than 2,200 Palestinians have been forced from their homes since Israel launched its siege of Hebron, in the occupied West Bank, on October 23. Buildings have been demolished and hundreds of businesses forced to close. Residents accuse Israeli authorities of exploiting last week’s deadly gunfight to tighten restrictions ahead of Israel’s October 27 elections. The offensive comes amid a surge in Israeli military and illegal settler attacks across the occupied West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, since Israel launched its genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023. The violence has involved killings, arrests, home demolitions, the destruction of agricultural land, and the forced displacement of Palestinian communities, as Israel continues to expand its illegal settlements on Palestinian land

From arms sales to surveillance flights, Britain has played an instrumental role in Israel's destruction of Gaza. Shamefully, this government is trying to obstruct the truth. Sign this petition for a public inquiry into Britain's complicity in genocide. petition.parliament.uk/petit…

"The science is crystal clear that if we were to burn the reserves in existing oil and gas fields, and those that are planned, we would shoot straight past what scientists and governments have accepted is the threshold for a safe climate." @TessaKhan, energy expert and executive director of Uplift, explains to @AaronBastani why the government's decision to drill for more gas poses a grave threat to humanity. The worst thing about the buses story is the way the BBC embraced the extreme language used by McGills against the FM and the lack of condemnation from Scottish Labour given it comes from a major donor. Imagine Burnham being compared to murderous dictators by an SNP donor. The BBC would immediately go after John Swinney to ask him if he condemned the remarks. The whole narrative would be about the extreme language from a major SNP donor. Not in this case though because the target is the SNP and not Labour. Indeed, the fact that McGills is owned by donors to the Scottish Labour party is absent from BBC Scotland coverage. The story is being politically managed to remove any fallout that might harm Labour.

Prior to the 2024 general election BBC Scotland headlined calls for Scottish buses to be taken back into public ownership. The call came from a think tank called Centre for Cities and a Glasgow campaign group. Why are neither on BBC Scotland this morning? Interestingly, Centre for Cities turned up on BBC Scotland earlier this year calling for elected mayors in Scottish cities - and singled out Glasgow.
