Brazilian Yellowheart. Used in our 1958 Lundberg Butterfly tribute. Few woods have such a vibrant yellow! Fun fact: this wood has a reputation of having a mildly unpleasant aroma when it is cut. Find it here: kck.st/2l3gwjX
Finishing is where the magic happens. On the left is an unfinished Bloodwood yo-yo. After sanding and an application of a clear finish, it magically transforms into the beauty on the right. Gorgeous. See more here: kck.st/2l3gwjX

This is the 2018 String Rocket, shaped to be a tribute to modern yo-yos. It was designed by Al Stordahl and Virgil Leih, creating the StorLeih. The wood is Padauk, from Africa, and will deepen to a reddish brown over time. Get one: kck.st/2l3gwjX

This is the incredible exotic wood, Wenge. It comes from Africa, and has gorgeous, nearly black streaks. Fun fact, Wenge splinters take longer to heal than other splinters. But don't worry, our 1965 tribute Wenge yo-yo has a mirror finish. Check it: kck.st/2l3gwjX

This is Birdseye Maple. See those little swirls in the wood? Those only occur in about 1% of hard maple, and it is unknown as to how they form. This is an exotic American wood from Michigan that we use to honor the Duncan Imperial Yo-Yo. Learn more here: kck.st/2l3gwjX

Lucky Meisenheimer, M.D., Guinness record holder, and author, said this: "The Yo-Yo Legacy Project is a magnificent set honoring the great classic yo-yos. Every serious yo-yo collector should want to include this in their collection." Kickstarter: kck.st/2l3gwjX
This is an excerpt from a 1928 Yo-Yo brochure that was packaged with Pedro Flores' #yoyos. The toy was brand new at the time, and nobody knew how to use them! We offer a reproduction of this manual over at our Kickstarter if you want to own a hard copy: kck.st/2l3gwjX

This is really cool, it is an Epilog laser engraving our logo on the back of a Birdseye Maple yo-yo. I love the smoke. (By the way, we hit $4,087 on our Kickstarter! That puts us at about 27% of goal after 36 hours. So exciting! See our progress here: kck.st/2l3gwjX )
The youtube channel @throwsnbrews did an AMAZING video about the Yo-Yo Legacy Project. You gotta check it out: youtu.be/I4cUQ_m-5vI #yoyo

We could all use a little more CNC machine for a Friday, couldn't we? This is the String Rocket being cut out of African Padauk. The color of this wood is unbelievable. #yoyo #exoticwood

Our Yo-Yos are made for display, but in the right hands they can get some work done. Thanks for loaning us your expertise, Dazzling Dave! #yoyo
Gold paint is being applied to the laser engraved date on the Bloodwood Yo-Yo. While the CNC machines does the heavy lifting on the shaping of the wood, much of the finishing work needs to be done by hand. #yoyo
This is the original American Yo-Yo, manufactured around 1928 by Pedro Flores. The toy was well-known in the Philippines, his place of birth, and he saw an opportunity for the toy in the U.S. He would soon be bought out by Duncan and the rest is history. #yoyo
Virg is spraying the clear finish on a batch of Birdseye Maple and Yellowheart Yo-Yos. We don't use any stains or dyes on our Yo-Yos, so all you see is the natural color of the wood. The Yellowheart is really that yellow! #yoyo #todaysthrow
