oh boy
Yohan Hadji, nicknamed `Gliderboy,’ has invented a lightweight foam glider that can bring sensors from weather balloons back from the stratosphere. bloomberg.com/news/newslette…
Meteogliders are now flying daily in Greenland!!
DMI becomes the world’s first national weather service to use it operationally.
Using a Meteoglider is the easiest way to get thermal IR images from very high altitude. I believe this could be useful for wildfire monitoring when weather balloons are launched anyway for wind measurement.
Reach out if you have another application in mind!
greetings from the meteoglider guidance team, with the meteoglider you get the control to choose where your radiosonde is collecting data and where it will land.
Snowfalls from this week in Switzerland seen from 100'000ft. The meteoglider keeps returning radiosondes to launch site no matter the season.
I am offering a $1000 reward to the first person able to get their hands on a <150mg battery capable of delivering >7mA at >3.3V for more than 30min
sunset in the stratosphere seen from a 250g weather sensor gliding back home from 30'000m altitude. The Meteoglider is making radiosondes reusable
finally caught a Meteoglider returning from 30’000m in my hands after hundreds of attempts over the last two years 🥳
Meteoglider landing back home after releasing from its weather balloon at 30km altitude and 80km distance.
