Car crash interview. £874 million to get about 4,000 people off the street.
That’s £190,000 each. Buy them a house.
Instead it’s contracts, outreach teams and councils deciding where the cash goes.
Rough sleeping rose under Burnham in Manchester. Now we’re nationalising the failure.

Watching the Commons. The Bollard was dull, but the very low intellectual calibre of the House has been even further lowered by his successor in No10. Abu Dhabi Andy is so over-promoted. Feels like he’s briefly emerged from a meeting at the bus depot to address his comrades.

It’s pathetic watching broadcasters and pundits trying to analyse that game.
There’s nothing to analyse. They’re cheats. The whole league is a sham. It’s all pointless until they’re punished. A league based on sporting merit can’t continue with any credibility while this looms.

If the Premier League don’t, or are unable to deal with this cancer in our game promptly and severely, the other clubs can and should take matters into their own hands and vote to expel Man City*

Can’t wait for Andy Burnham to blame Man City’s cheating on Russian interference.

In the 1990s I worked with Ken Alibek, the former No. 2 in the Soviet biological weapons program, after he defected to the US.
He claimed that they had engineered a strain of plague that was antibiotic-resistant & that they had worked on plague chimeras (fusing 2 or more pathogens).
He specifically called out Irkutsk for being involved in the BW program.
This outbreak is deeply worrisome. This may not be just “the plague.” It may be far worse.
A Russian lab worker has died and thousands are in quarantine after a plague outbreak.
The World Health Organisation says the pneumonic form of plague is especially contagious and "can trigger severe epidemics".

The White House is "monitoring" reports of a suspected plague outbreak in the Russian city of Irkutsk after a worker at the Irkutsk Anti-Plague Institute died Friday -Axios

Pneumonic plague is an aerosolized version of the bubonic plague. Meaning, it can pass through air and affect your lungs.
If you don't receive treatment within 24 hours of infection, your chance of DEATH is 100%.

Why did we build wind farms in remote areas without also upgrading the grid and substations to carry the extra power?
The answers go back to 2008, and Ed Miliband’s first stint as energy secretary who was warned by National Grid that expanding wind farms needed expensive grid upgrades which were nowhere near happening.
Miliband allowed wind farms to be built anyway. The power might go nowhere, but the producers would still get paid for it.
This ‘connect and manage’ approach invited generators to connect to the grid before reinforcement was complete. The problem is nobody followed through with the plan to reinforce the grid and the blame is laid at Miliband’s door.

Do Arsenal fans know that they moved to N London, leaving the working-class families of SE London to target the wealthier families in Highbury and then were bought by a banker who bought them their success in the 1930s (the same thing they hold against us).
