physical media exists because we like to collect things. publishers already can and do 'kill' games with physical discs, its not a solution

I don’t want to get a disc out to play a game. There is a reason I got a bunch EverDrives and have in-game-reset mods on every retro console.
The collector in me does want physical but it’s just inconvenient and for that reason I have not purchased a physical game since Xbox One’s launch day.
What I do hate is paying full price for a game that I don’t actually own. Physical or digital.
What we should all be demanding from these big corps is to give players real ownership and the right to play purchased games indefinitely.. across platform generations.
