🇬🇷🇮🇹 The 28th of October and Helleno-Italian Friendship 🇬🇷🇮🇹 On the 28th of October, 1940, Hellas began a Beautiful War. By defeating the Italian invasion, a senseless invasion, which involved her in the fratricidal World War without reason, Hellas also sowed the seeds for the Helleno-Italian friendship. For when the boisterous, Futurist Alpini were smashed by the "boring", paternalist Metaxas regime, the idea that Italy could treat Hellas as anything but a friend was destroyed; Paradise himself granted us a victory so beautiful to make anything but friendship with us ugly. The Trojan entered the woman of the Danaans, thinking that it would avenge his ancestors, but she bested his vitality. He could handle neither the mounds of Pindus - her soft breasts, nor her heavy chestnut hair; he fell to her feet in awe and terror, realizing that the Hellenida is not Godly Slavic peasant-woman, but a Goddess... May songs continue to be sung about the Hellenic victory in the Beautiful War! 🎶 May the Helleno-Italian friendship which arose through Hellas' victory grow into a fruitful marriage! 🕊️ May the Achaeans and Trojans (the actual Trojans) become the Euro-Thalassocrats of the Mediterranean yet again... 🇬🇷🇮🇹🌊
