I grew up resenting my aunt for being well-off but not helping us financially.
When I started working, I promised myself I’d be a better version of her. I helped siblings, nieces, nephews, family — whoever needed it.
Then Black Tax had me in a chokehold, and eventually debt started catching up with me.
That’s when I learned to set boundaries.
I finally understood that I don’t owe anyone financial support simply because we’re family. And, most importantly, I stopped feeling guilty about it.
Funny how adulthood teaches you to understand the people you once judged.

People on here will ask “Is it too late to start over at 28?” and everyone will reply “Yikes. Hate to break it to you gramps but it was over for you 10 years ago.” Meanwhile my 63 year old neighbor is taking the bar exam because he has a list of pharma companies he plans to sue

Jordan was viewed as the GOAT long before winning 6 rings, which, btw, was never the measure of individual greatness
Rings only started to gain more weight when Lebron emerged & the media had to manufacture walls around Lebron's GOAT case

I once dated a girl for a short period who had an MBA and made a $50k salary as a bank cash manager, while living in a top 5 most expensive city in the US
Hated her job. Wanted a higher salary. She was a smart girl, but didn’t know what to do. So she decided to… go back to school
This is why women are attracted to post-grad education. It allows them to scratch the itch of doing something purposeful with their life inside of the safety and comfort of academia, avoiding the harsh realities of the real workforce
