Incredibly pleased to announce that I have a new book out now! "Bonhoeffer on Film: Depictions and Interpretations of the Great Theologian" examines eight films and a cinematic biography about Dietrich Bonhoeffer's life, theology, and witness. a.co/d/03MlqSlC
Got around to writing a bit (or maybe slightly more than a bit) about the book I wrote about films about Dietrich Bonhoeffer, how it came to be, and what it's *really* about, since it's not really about Bonhoeffer himself. Check it out!

For today's Dietrich Bonhoeffer movie, let's talk about another documentary, "Hanged on a Twisted Cross: The Life, Convictions, and Martyrdom of Dietrich Bonhoeffer"
On the whole, the thing is solidly made, too, exactly what you expect from a very standard historical documentary. Something watchable, detailed, and maybe a little stylistically dated. But, of course, still very much worth it.
And, of course, a link for those interested: a.co/d/01uTlzhg
Missed a couple days, but I'm back and here now to detail what is probably the most intriguing of the Bonhoeffer films that I watched, a semi-fiction, semi-documentary film, "Come Before Winter"
