It’s easy to “discover” a conspiracy when you don’t know how anything in the industry actually works.

perhaps the best thing about a new Nathan Fielder project is how insane and conspiratorial it makes folks it’s like QAnon for people with bachelor’s degrees

A timely, soft satire of Silicon Valley culture & its growth at all costs mindset, ARTIFICIAL charts the rise & fall of techno-optimism as a by-the-numbers whistleblower story. Silly until it turns ominous, this is Luca Guadagnino’s funniest film to date, also his least daring.

my favorite part of Artificial was seeing Stavvy and Dominic Sessa together in the audience

There’s a sentiment I’ve heard from people who work in artificial intelligence that Artificial echoes: AI will take your job & make your skills worthless, so get as much money now before it’s too late. They know that we’re all on the Titanic and Super Intelligence is the iceberg.

A Statement: Courtroom drama sans the courtroom, sober, dense, and competent. The strong ensemble brings life to lines pulled from transcripts, though the arguments, as well as the emotions, are underserved. It’s intellectually engaging but feels capped off by an ellipsis.

BEHEMOTH! is massive! A marvel of writing, editing & music that ties disparate ideas into a complex, novelistic portrait of an artist. Each scene a world unto itself that breathlessly hurtles the story forward. Incredible, crisp filmmaking. Pedro Pascal has never been better.
