I sure hope when tides turn that Democrats remember that Republicans openly admitted how much they abused the blue slip to obstruct judges, because it was a lot more than the Democrats!

I grew up near Carlisle and remember learning as a kid about how the school helped "civilize" Native Americans. 🤮 I'm glad this proclamation gets the history right in all its ugliness.

Today, Biden signed a proclamation establishing the Carlisle Federal Indian Boarding School National Monument in PA. The proclamation "acknowledges the painful past of forced assimilation of Native children through the implementation of federal Indian boarding school policies."

In Loving, Virginia argued that laws prohibiting interracial marriage applied to both races in the same way that Tennessee argued that laws against gender affirming care applied to both sexes. It's confusing because Justice Jackson is very smart and most blue checks not so much.
