No one is ever going to live on Mars. It’s the dumbest fucking idea in history. The. Planet. Is. Uninhabitable. Translation: that shit ain’t happening. Ever.

Hitler was as much of a far-left socialist as you are a democracy-loving humanist.

If you wonder why France and Europe have more riots than elsewhere... pls keep in mind that their rioters, if arrested, end up in jail for a night or so, and go home. In Russia, they stay in jail for years on end. In the US, they probably get shot. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cq0m…

Ukraine has survived terror-famine, Nazi occupation, Soviet communism, Chernobyl, Yanukovych, Russian invasion and occupation and Russian invasion and occupation. It will survive a lowlife from Queens and a sociopathic Space Karen from Praetoria.

It has taken 10 years for supposedly responsible commentators to accept what was obvious from the start: Trump is a Russian puppet
10 years later and it’s still one of the best attack lines in a presidential debate. And now everyone knows she was right.

To put this more precisely, among Dems no doubt there will be many legislators and party figures whose instincts will be caution and moderation, but the response of Trump and his clique could be so idiotically escalatory that they will run out of options apart from confrontation
Replying to @APHClarkson
There are always Leftist or MAGA Americans who will say "lol Dems haven't got the guts". But once a domestic political escalation spiral starts, once even the most mild political figures feel existentially threatened they start backing efforts to rip apart their enemies

Some violence again in Paris last night. More of the looting kind than the political kind. Macron speech regarded as weak by all comers. Growing drumbeat to blame Melenchon for Saturday, with some reason. But all helps Le Pen. If the scattered violence continues or intensifies, the Govt will come under pressure to declare a state of emergency. Unlikely in my view. But difficult for Govt to respond to the legitimate demands of students and others because it has no money. And impossible to respond to demands of the violent minority because they have none except 'screw the system'.

Bottom line: Peter Thiel and Elon Musk have allied with Putin and oil/gas interests to try to undermine the dollar as the world’s reserve currency, in a fascist bid to destroy the US and EU administrative states. Pick a side.

If Musk has already restricted Starlink for Ukraine today, what guarantee is there that tomorrow he won’t impose some kind of restrictions on Tesla vehicles in Ukraine? Or even in Europe? Simply because he wants to put pressure on Ukrainians and Europeans. What guarantee is there that the American company Apple won’t block its iPhones and MacBooks for Ukrainians as a means of political pressure??? What guarantee do we have now that Americans won’t use any of their commercial products as leverage against any European country, just as they are now using Starlink restrictions as leverage against Ukraine? American companies cannot be trusted!

Polite reminder. Trump & Brexit are not 2 different things. They are the same thing. Same companies. Same data. Same Facebook. Same Russians. Same Cambridge Analytica. Same Robert Mercer. Same Steve Bannon. Same Breitbart. Same Alexander Nix. Same Donald Trump. Same Nigel Farage.

I’m questioning the purpose of all of these data centers. Are we subsidizing bot farms to feed us misinformation?

Guess who was German Chancellor from 1998 to 2005 …
"In 2005, German Chancellor Schroeder hastily signed the Nord Stream deal, even though he had been voted out days earlier...He miraculously appeared as Manager of the project afterwards"

This is deeply disturbing: Anthropic secretly invited religious leaders to SF to advise them on AI safety, had them sign NDAs, but then primarily tried to convince them Claude has a soul & moral standing, all while wining & dining them to the max. 1/ tinyurl.com/preview/296b5z8z
