The VSA in Killzone shadow fall are the only sci-fi Army that came reasonably close to breaking this stereotype. But they made the classic mistake of thinking goggles + helmets (and some blue lenses and led lights) are as cool as fully enclosed helmets with gas masks.

Its funny because out of all the gangs I hated the Voodoo boys the most because how they astrayed from their ancestral teachings. I ALWAYS kill them all every playthrough. Not because what they did to V but because its a perversion of it and the sister faiths in the spirits.

You aren’t supposed to harm outsiders, you aren’t supposed to be cruel to especially outsiders who would help you. I understand their circumstances of why they’re in night city, but practitioners of the faith, and its sisters are no stranger to hard times or friendly outsiders.

If they are willing to hurt someone from outside the faith they assume. They would harm someone from within it too, creating an exclusionary identity within their own culture and people. They are a timebomb and a danger to everyone.
