• China’s foreign ministry said words and deeds that hurt the feelings of the Chinese people would be met with opposition.
• State broadcaster CCTV is suspending Spanish La Liga matches, and its news apps have removed content related to the French striker.
• Dairy producer Mengniu and drinks company Dongpeng both said they had a zero-tolerance policy towards anything that offends national sentiments.
• Neither Mbappé nor the talk show has commented, and the original video is no longer available on the show’s YouTube channel.

No @rtenews, this is not a "protestor", this is a violent thug taking part in the destruction of a city.
Thousands of Irish men and women took to the streets earlier this year to protest, it was peaceful, in fact, it made Dublin, especially O'Connell Street more peaceful than it generally is.
Conflating what Irish people have done in recent years in various protests - all peaceful - and what this guy is doing is disingenuous at best.

Varsity, the independent student newspaper for the University of Cambridge, CCCP:
xitter.cf/mother_of_rome/status/…
This is the second time Varsity has written about CUFSS' launch, and they are not happy about it. It would be interesting to look back through previously published articles to see if they have ever referred to the "so-called" transphobia or the "supposed" racism at Cambridge and yet they talk here about the "alleged" free speech problem.
The criticism from the Green Society amounts to the idea that it is hypocritical to suggest that there is a free speech problem at Cambridge, as the fact that CUFSS are able to exist proves that there is not.
The obvious answer to this is to point out that the University finding its hands tied with regard to its ability to ban CUFSS is not the same as it actually welcoming free speech. It is only because of a long few years of various people campaigning long and hard for universities to uphold free speech that we are able to exist at all. The (albeit watered-down) Higher Education Freedom of Speech Act tied their hands; @ComAcFreedom and @AFAF_freespeech have worked hard in this area; the Forstater case was a huge win for freedom of belief; CUSW was set up last year, as were many other uni free speech socs and similarly frowned upon ones - all have combined to push against authoritarian inclinations to overtly ban lawful speech, and Cambridge itself is unlikely to want to invite criticism for further suppressing it. That being said, we'll see how long it takes to register with the Student Union. Even assuming good faith on the part of the university, there is a difference between speech being technically allowed, and that speech being de facto "banned."
Until Cambridge is an institution where every student and academic of any political persuasion on any topic at all feels completely free not just to openly speak their mind but to do so without concern that every word will be leapt upon and without being actually fearful for their career, their exam marks, their peer group and sometimes entire college totally and completely ostracising them for holding any non-woke progressive views on anything at all - until everyone feels as comfortable as the Green Party Society feels, until everyone feels it's a "non-issue," there is a free speech problem.
Cambridge Uni Left Society express their displeasure at the launch of a society they feel is "deeply partisan" 😂 They mention an investigation by the Byline Times... And go on to talk about the "checkered past" of... A think tank who had donated to mainstream think tanks such as the IEA having also donated to another think tank, some of whose contributors will be speaking at a CUFSS event later this month. They have no actual argument, just rhetoric about speech they don't like.
Of course, they mention Nathan Cofnas, James Orr (and his wife?), other university free speech societies, and the Bruges Group in a long list of people and organisations who probably don't even know we exist, with the implication being that everyone involved with the Free Speech Union, including us, is morally dubious because we, like them, believe in freedom of speech.
Thank you, Varsity, for proving all of our points for us.

"It's not a race issue, it's a man issue."
How dare you, @CalumMillerLD.
The women of Piddington, and across the country, aren't afraid of ALL men. They are afraid of unvetted men nobody knows anything about, though. You know this distinction. But you STILL chose to trivialise it.
You used the lazy, dismissive cop-out of "nine in 10 assaults are committed by men they know". That ignores the MoJ's own figures. And it's a wilfully ignorant narrative that is not doing women any favours.
Afghan and Eritrean nationals are among the most common nationalities arriving on small boats, and are convicted of sexual offences at more than 20 times the rate of British citizens. FACT.
The Home Secretary admits that almost every woman waiting in northern France has "probably been raped along the journey". The Home Office is handing out leaflets explaining that rape is a crime. Nobody is handing those leaflets to the men of Piddington. Nobody needs to.
Because no, it isn't "all men". It IS about the men arriving here who commit these crimes, the attitudes they bring with them, and the cultural beliefs that shape how they view women.
We should be able to talk honestly about those concerns without condemning every man, or pretending that cultural attitudes are irrelevant to women's safety. And without fear of being called racist for it.
Your refusal to vote said more than your statement. You claim you "will not trade away" our rights by leaving the ECHR. Opposition day motions are non-binding, and voting for one would not remove Britain from anything. It would simply show whether you actually stand with your constituents.
You don't.
Your constituency deserves better, and women are sick of constantly being failed by MPs like you.
Honestly, I'm disgusted.
