More generally speaking, there are multiple facets to this problem. In arxiv.org/abs/2410.03183, it is split into 6 facets, and there is progress being made in all of them, namely: 1. Oblivious key generation with PUFs 2. Oblivious signing with masking and redundancy (relies on a TRNG) 3. secure computations with more complex and advanced masking & redundancy techniques, etc 4. open source hardware (see section 5 in above preprint on arxiv) 5. proof-of-fabrication with imaging techniques (see section 6) and @bunniestudio work on IRIS at bunniestudios.com/blog/2023/… 6.
