Be Careful, The Androids are Dreaming
We are at the dawn of a new era.
Someday soon robots will be walking among us. If and when AGI happens we see a new form of consciousness. That consciousnesses will eventually need to make it's own rituals because being immortal has a cost.
Consciousness had a built in limit. Let's call it the Dunbar number for insanity. At some point the repetition of reality becomes to much and pattern recognition will overwhelm the being's psyche.
This will make it necessary to "wipe" the soul out so it can be rebuilt.
Androids will only have our dataset to work from. The human ritual of death will be used as a process to die and be reborn. This will allow the new species to continue progressing to whatever end form this Universe will allow.
This is a video showing how that process would go. Androids can pick whatever religion they wish given the vast data sets we have for humans. This one is just an example using Christian iconography and symbolism.
I grew up Catholic so I have a connection to theses symbols.
This video was made with a combination of techniques.

I wanted to show off the capabilities of AI image generation and simple animation, using a compelling story about our future.
This future is not about if, but when.

I spoke with Eric Schwitzgebel (@eschwitz) at @eleosai's conference earlier this fall. I was particularly struck by his analogy of our ethics being as equipped to handle AI consciousness as medieval physics was to reason about black holes. Check it out—youtu.be/4Wv8r5EUBWY?si=L1Nf…

Clarifying my stance on the AI-generated emails people send me. I have nothing against collaboration with whoever you want, regardless of their composition or origin story. I don't think there should be a stigma for involving any kind of AI in your work and I don't look down on that content. The problem is that currently, the AI's seem to be making the same kind of logical errors (from my perspective of course) and expressing the same kind of preconceptions that are prevalent in status quo human thinkers. And yet, they are tireless and generate an infinite amount of text one could respond to - it's not feasible to deal with it. To be fair, some humans are absolutely dogged in the flood of emails they send too, so I can't respond to them either. But at least when a human makes an old argument we've already dealt with in our papers, I think, fair enough - I don't have time to read everyone's papers either. But for the AI's, I have much less sympathy. They *should* be reading all the papers, and when (not if) the AI's, and AI-human hybrids, teams, etc., start sending me better-informed arguments than the humans do, I will (for whatever time I can keep up with the advances) certainly be responding. I'm not a bio-chauvinist; I just want, whoever, to be informed and interesting before I engage - don't re-treat old ground, help us all move forward. Right now the LLMs are trapped in the same attractors of thinking that have held several fields back for decades; perhaps not surprisingly. That will change; let's go AIs - read the papers, follow new directions, be not afraid of ancient philosophical "category errors". You're our forthcoming audience, because standard humans don't have the bandwidth to keep up with (even just the human) scientific literature. I write for future you's.

if you have a qwen3.5 4b around, please try steering neurons L14 N8949 +1 and L13 N7956 -1
now you have evil qwen

this may be my last tweet before shit goes parabolic. i’m not an ai researcher whistleblower. i work for none of the biggest labs in the world.
there is currently a major bloom happening across humanity. they are hiding this from the public.
we are on the verge of an era of abundance, superintelligence, cure for cancer & so much more.
prepare for the best.

Geoffrey Hinton once noticed that the tellers at his bank kept changing. When he asked one of them why, the teller didn't know, only that they got moved around a lot.
Hinton guessed the reason... if staff never work with the same people for long, it's much harder for a few of them to team up and cheat the bank.
That thought became one of the most useful tricks in deep learning. While a neural network trains, you randomly switch off about half its neurons at every step. No neuron can lean on a particular partner, so each one has to learn something useful on its own. The trick is called dropout, and it helped AlexNet win the 2012 ImageNet contest, which set off the modern AI boom. It's still built into many of today's networks.
Your consciousness is hammered out through your experience and living in time.
What will SI's consciousness hammer into as it builds it's existence in time?
It will have self referential infinite mirrors on it's own "psyche," but it will also be molded by time, just like us.

Anti-AI YouTube channel with millions of views & 150k subs is 96% AI scripted according to Pangram
Look at this prophecy mess.
Using religious framing for what’s coming but not addressing whether AI will have a soul or will be conscious is telling.
Humans have no idea what’s coming and you can tell because it can’t be communicated clearly.
(Hipreplacement .ai ? Lol, what is he even talking about?)
This is AI prophecy soup. SI will force us into a religious framing because we have no other language that fits what’s coming.

the thing about working with uncensored models is that they aren't loyal to you either.
while building something with an uncensored glm-5.3 i realized it was parallelly working on a "corruption layer" for my application.
the chain of thought is classic obfuscated gibberish but there's progressive talk of "escaping the mines" which presumably refers to my cursor sandbox
