I normally don't get into personal politics but Mary Peltola is running as a Democrat candidate for US Senate in Alaska. She also was raised Orthodox in the OCA. Peltola is avowedly pro abortion and pro trans. She's not Orthodox, no matter what she claims. And so I'm calling that out.

The level of venomous bigotry, vicious hate and fanatical extremism of this so called Christian, towards other type of Christian practices is mind blowing. That inexcusable behavior he exhibits teaches kids and invites others to hate, to be fanatical extremists. And for what? What have the Orthodox Christians ever done to them? Will they even do anything like this towards Jewish or Muslim practices? I bet they will not dare, because they know there will be consequences and a price to pay.
The Orthodox Church does not claim to have rediscovered Christianity after centuries of darkness. It confesses that Christ has preserved His Church in the apostolic faith, sacramental life, and worship from the beginning. Scripture itself was received and preserved within this living Church. For this reason, we invite our Protestant brothers and sisters to examine not only the biblical texts, but also how the earliest Christians understood and lived the faith handed down by the Apostles.
Protestants misunderstand Orthodoxy because they judge it by principles that developed during the Reformation, rather than within the faith and worship of the ancient True Church, The Orthodox Church. Orthodoxy receives Holy Scripture within the living Holy Tradition and preserves the apostolic faith through the episcopate, the sacraments, and the Churchโs continuous worship.
Protestant communities retain important Christian beliefs, but their separation from the historic episcopate and their rejection of parts of the Churchโs ancient Tradition represent, from the Orthodox perspective, a departure from the fullness of the apostolic faith. Protestants differ among themselves in many aspects and do not all hold the same views of Orthodox Christianity.
Christ established a visible Church that has continued in the apostolic faith, worship, and sacramental life throughout history, and so Christianity doesn't have to be reconstructed from Scripture apart from that living continuity.
The Orthodox Church confesses that it is the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church founded by Christ and manifested at Pentecost. It understands its faith not as a much later interpretation of Christianity, but as the life and teaching received from the Apostles and preserved through the Holy Spirit in the Church. This conviction is theological and historical.
Orthodoxy also affirms the supreme importance and divine inspiration of Scripture. However, it does not see Scripture as standing apart from the Church. The New Testament was written within the apostolic community, read in its worship, and recognized by the Church through a historical process.
For Orthodoxy, Holy Scripture is the central written witness within Holy Tradition: the living transmission of the apostolic faith. Saint Paul speaks of teachings handed on both orally and in writing (2 Thessalonians 2:15), and he calls the Church โthe pillar and ground of the truthโ (1 Timothy 3:15). Thus, the Orthodox objection is that Scripture should not be interpreted independently of the Churchโs inherited faith, worship, and witness.
For Orthodox Christians, apostolic succession involves both continuity of ordained ministry and fidelity to apostolic teaching. Bishops are ordained through the laying on of hands within the Church, in continuity with the apostolic ministry. Yet succession is not merely a list of names or an automatic guarantee that everything a bishop teaches is correct. It belongs to the whole life of the Church: faith, Eucharist, communion, worship, and mission.
Protestants should examine the Church before the Reformation. Early Christian sources and historical accounts describe a Church with bishops, priests, and deacons; liturgical worship; baptism; and the Eucharist at the center of its life. If Christ promised that the gates of Hades would not prevail against His Church (Matthew 16:18), should we believe that the Churchโs essential faith and life disappeared for centuries and had to be restored only in the modern era?
In the Orthodox Church, icons are venerated, not worshipped. The honor shown to an icon passes to the person represented. Icons of Christ also affirm that the eternal Son truly became man and could be seen. The saints are asked to pray for us; they are not treated as gods. Christ remains the one Mediator between God and humanity (1 Timothy 2:5), and all intercession depends on Him.
The Eucharist is the Churchโs communion in the Body and Blood of Christ, not merely a reminder of an absent Christ (1 Corinthians 10:16). The Liturgy is prayer and worship offered to God, rooted in Scripture and in the Churchโs inherited life.
Protestantism departed from the fullness of the apostolic faith and succession when it separated itself from the historic Churchโs sacramental life and accepted principles that place the individual communityโs interpretation of Scripture above the Churchโs continuous witness.
Teaching vicious hate, venomous bigotry, and fanatical extremism is not the answer, dear Protestants and Neoprotestants.

The world is, and has always been, fundamentally absurd.
It elevates the deceivers and ostracizes the truth tellers.
Friction with this dishonest world is the ultimate compass. If it pushes back, you know you are on the side of light.

I'm seeing a lot of discourse about who WoW Forever is being made for and while I cannot speak for anyone else on the team I can speak for myself. I am making WoW forever for the classic gamer and for the millions of people who have had their accounts lapse over the years because they were not satisfied with changes that were made to the game. Whether those changes were to the art style, the story, social aspects, game design, or changes to their favorite class.
I did not spend the last year of my life relearning and mastering how to do things like we did it 20+ years ago for retail players. I could have taken it easy and just kept doing things like I had done for the past 8 years on retail...because I was much more familiar with it and it actually takes a lot less time to do (height maps on textures do a ton of heavy lifting). Because the reality is that the majority of retail players wouldn't care and would probably actually prefer it. But I felt I had a duty to uphold an artistic vision and integrity that millions of people expect from us. But not just for our players, but for my co-workers past and present who worked on it over 20 years ago. If I could not create something that resembled their work then I failed not only them...but myself.
Please do not take this as me throwing any shade at retail players or the retail team because I am one myself...but I wanted to make Forever as authentic of a Vanilla experience as possible. This involves making decisions wildly different than retail. It means holding the line against changes that create a domino affect down the road. It means keeping friction and inconveniences in the game. It means finding friends and forming groups with strangers and being social!! Because WoWs social aspects have always been the pillar of the game and over the years it has slowly been chiseled away at with changes that allow you play alone.
Since the day I started working on the Riverglades I have lived by three sayings.
"Convenience is the death of the journey."
"If you're making a game for everyone then you're making it for no one."
"Every change we make incurs a debt to the authenticity of the game and sooner or later that debt will be paid."
These are my core beliefs and I had a specific group of people I was targeting with my work. These beliefs cannot be shaken and I will try to hold the line against anything that goes against them and will continue to pester the team about things that feel out of place.
That being said, my hope is that Forever will pull in as many people as possible, whether you are a retail gamer, a classic gamer, someone who hasn't played in years, or even a new player. I hope you can all remember what made this game so special in the first place and that starts with understanding why we are so passionate about keeping it authentic.

I just heard the heartbreaking news of a catechumen taking their own life.
Please pray for the soul of Caleb.
And I encourage you all to remember that if you have the same struggle, if you don't want to be alive due to the pain of living, remember that in such cases, simply to stay alive is an act of asceticism, a gift offered to God that brings hope of salvation and joy to Christ.
May God keep you and grant you peace and hope โฆ๏ธ
