Can your blender do this?
You can add this sugarcane-sweetened version to your recipe archives for the next time you’re making Zobo.

There are three likely reasons they reconsidered:
1. They recognized the risk of losing a repeat customer.
A customer who regularly buys food is potentially worth much more than one transaction.
If this person spends N20,000 weekly, for example, losing them could mean losing approximately N1 million in annual purchases.
Suddenly, allowing a customer to bring their own flask doesn't seem like such a difficult decision.
2. They realized your objection was reasonable.
You weren't asking for free food or demanding a discount but were offering to solve a problem that affected you directly without creating additional packaging costs for the restaurant.
3. They recognized that you had reached a breaking point.
Customers don't always announce when they are becoming dissatisfied; sometimes they simply stop buying.
You actually told management what was making you reconsider your relationship with the restaurant, and that is valuable feedback.
This restaurant I regularly buy food from charges 800 naira for one regular black takeaway pack. I always thought these packs cost 150 or 200 at most, so I was shocked when I discovered the price.
Earlier this week, I bought six different packs of food and realised I had paid almost 5k for takeaway packs alone. Packs I threw in the bin almost immediately I got home. It just didn’t make sense to me.
I reached out to management and asked if I could bring my own food flasks. They said no. I replied that it was fine, but I wouldn’t be buying food from them again.
Guess who called back to say I could bring my own flasks?🤣😅

She needed to give this example for context and to help people not to get tired of themselves or stop believing in their dreams.
The lessons here is also that some people will say no to you; never say no to yourself

I've seen some petrol stations implement something recently, and as a life cycle strategist, this is good, and they can take it a notch higher
Imagine this gas station doesn't just record your transactions but actually uses that information to understand your buying habits.
They know when you last bought gas and have an idea of how frequently you refill and can estimate when you're likely to need another purchase.
Now, instead of waiting for you to remember them, they send you a message two or three days before your estimated refill date:
"Good afternoon, based on your usual purchase pattern, you may be running low on gas soon. We thought we'd remind you to refill in good time and look forward to serving you again; that's customer retention through anticipation.
You're not waiting for the customer to remember your business but using what you know about their behaviour to make the next purchase easier, imagine taking it a step further with convenient delivery options.
This is what happens when businesses stop treating customer data as information to store and start treating it as information to act on.
Retention isn't always about giving discounts; sometimes, it's simply about understanding what your customer needs before they have to ask.

Your customers are talking about you, they also have a list that your name might be on that list.
Customers don’t usually tell the vendor when something goes wrong, they tell everyone else, and this week I read nearly 200 comments from people doing exactly that.
The amounts were not small and the products were not bad, but the same thing kept coming up in different words, a payment that landed and then silence, a vendor who was warm until the transfer and then had to be chased.
One comment in there is different from the rest, and it shows how little it takes to turn a first order into a regular customer who brings her friend along.
With Black Friday weeks away and more first-time customers on the way than any other month, this is the gap worth closing now.
Which one has happened to you, as a customer or as a vendor?
Tell me in the comments.

My 3-year-old informed me this week that my name is Mom.
I explained that Funmilayo is the name my parents gave me, he wasn’t interested.
As far as he’s concerned, I’m named after what I do for him, and that’s final not what my birth certificate carried.
He’s not wrong.
The strongest brands in the world got there the same way.
Nigerians call any instant noodles “Indomie” and any nappy “Pampers”.
Nobody says “search the web." We say “Google it”.
Your customers do the same thing, they might never remember the name on your logo, but they’ll remember you as the cake lady who never disappoints or the gas man who always picks up, and that name is earned in every message you send after they pay.
None of these brands earned that by repeating their name; they earned it by doing the same job, the same way, so often that the name and the job became one thing.
The same applies if you sell a service or an AI product.
Your users won’t describe you by your feature list. They’ll describe you by the job you do for them: “the tool that writes my proposals," “the app that sorts my invoices," and “the consultant who fixed our onboarding."
That name only sticks if they come back after the first try and that’s where most AI products and service businesses lose people because the sign-up or the first sale isn’t the hard part, what happens next is.
A user who gets real value in their first week starts to describe you by the job you do.
A user who doesn’t, quietly stops logging in, and you never become anything to them.
So the question isn’t “do people know our name?” It’s “what job do our customers think we do, and do we do it often enough that they come back?”
What do your clients call you? I’d love to hear it in the comments.

There's a big difference between outfits that look good and outfits that actually work for the person wearing them.
In Nigeria, breathable fabrics, comfortable outfits and practical designs should be thought of for seasons like this.
Think about someone who has to commute, sit in traffic, attend meetings, and run errands and still look presentable in this heat.
The outfit should work with their lifestyle and not make an already uncomfortable day worse.
Fashion brands need to pay attention to the environment their customers live in. Climate, movement, comfort and everyday needs should influence product design.
Looking good shouldn't require suffering through the day.
