The Seychelles offers an example: a national digital identity platform developed by @WISeKey, whose technology has since evolved towards decentralized identity and @hedera Here is how the pieces connect. The project started well before today’s decentralized identity initiatives. WISeKey began working with the Government of Seychelles on PKI, digital signatures and secure electronic transactions in 2014. SeyID was officially launched on October 31, 2022, giving citizens a digital identity for accessing government services online. SeyID is based on WISeKey’s WISeID technology. It enables authentication through web and mobile applications, with features including one-time passwords, QR-code login and digital signatures. The goal is convenient access to public services without compromising security. The platform has continued to evolve. In 2024, WISeKey announced a digital wallet for virtual national ID cards and driving licences. The government also introduced CertExpress, allowing citizens to request civil-status certificates online and receive digital documents through SeyID. Digital identity is moving beyond login functionality into everyday public administration. The next development connects this story to a wider digital trust architecture. On August 25, 2025, @WISeKey unveiled its next-generation WISeID platform, a decentralized identity framework for people and objects. The company announced a shared ecosystem combining WISeID and @Sealcoin_QAIT This is where @hedera enters the picture. WISeKey explicitly identifies the Hedera Consensus Service (HCS) as part of this architecture. The combined WISeID and SEALCOIN ecosystem uses blockchain technology and HCS to issue and manage verifiable credentials for people and devices. Trust anchors are recorded on the ledger, while personal data remains off-chain. The architecture connects two identity domains. WISeID focuses on people and their digital identities. @Sealcoin_QAIT extends this to connected devices and objects, enabling machine identities and trusted IoT interactions. @hedera provides consensus and ledger infrastructure for this next-generation identity framework. The implications extend beyond government services. As connected devices and AI agents become more autonomous, systems need to establish: • Who or what is involved. • Whether an identity credential is valid. • Which actions are authorized. • Whether interactions can be independently verified. The announcements establish this technological connection, but do not prove that the original SeyID platform has used Hedera since its launch. On November 5, 2026, SEALSQ, WISeQey and SEALCOIN signed a three-year MoU with Eco Wave Power U.S. The agreement explores secure connections between renewable-energy infrastructure, digital services and potential buyers, including data centers, utilities and industrial facilities. At Eco Wave Power’s installation in Jaffa Port, Israel, the companies demonstrated a Trusted Digital Twin linking physical energy production to an authenticated digital representation. This allows production data to be verified and linked to its source. The demonstration also showed how authenticated data can initiate secure, auditable transactions between identified counterparties under predefined conditions. The architecture combines complementary technologies: @EcoWavePower_ contributes energy-generation infrastructure. @SEALSQcorp provides secure semiconductors, PKI and post-quantum technologies. WISeQey contributes digital identity and authentication. @Sealcoin_QAIT enables machine-to-machine communication and transactions. This architecture is relevant to the growing energy demands of AI infrastructure. Connecting renewable-energy producers with data centers requires authenticated production data, identified counterparties and reliable execution of commercial conditions. Digital identity, secure hardware, distributed ledgers and automated transactions can provide these capabilities. The collaboration also includes a post-quantum security dimension. The companies intend to explore integrating SEALSQ’s QS7001 secure element and quantum-resistant cryptography. This remains a future development objective, with potential applications in connected devices and critical infrastructure. Eco Wave Power has initiated discussions with data center developers and infrastructure partners about potential future electricity supply. The MoU provides a framework for technical development and possible commercialization. The initial demonstration is not an electricity supply agreement or completed financial settlement. Future deployments require technical validation, regulatory compliance and separate commercial agreements.
