Sometimes it's hard. Sometimes you feel like you're no good. But then sometimes you realise you've paid over £100k to independent freelance artists this year in one of the toughest climates and that's something to be proud of.

I am grateful for the existence of public libraries and free museums. If we want more artists and authors, we must give young people a chance to be inspired, to see what it is possible create if they master their artistic skills.

Last night Equity & @ApplecartArts took the campaign to Save Applecart Arts to Newham Council ✊ We told them about the £1.2m Applecart has injected into the community over the past 2 years, the impact this loss of arts provision would have on young people in the borough, and the huge savings the council has made thanks to Applecart’s renovation & residence in the Passmore Edward’s Library. Applecart calculate the council has saved £450k in 24 hour security alone in the past 3 years.

I've got a house but I care about people who don't have housing I don't have to worry about getting pregnant (because I can't) I still think abortion rights are important. You don't need to be personally affected by something to think it's an issue.

There’s been research that’s found a correlation between reading fiction and more empathy. Which makes sense when you consider that literature = gaining insight into someone else’s perspective & experiences
“reading literary fiction makes you a better person” is a genuinely hilarious belief to have

🚌We are delighted the Scottish Budget will fund free bus travel for people seeking asylum. Banned from working and living on as little as £1.36 a day, access to public transport means people will no longer have to choose between buying food or travelling to the doctor’s.

The Taliban has just banned Afghan women from attending nursing school. Imagine: you cannot pursue any education, even healthcare, because of the sole reason that you are a woman. We are witnessing the erasure of women in real-time. It is beyond horror.

My music can wholeheartedly be broken into 'Chilled so I can focus on work' 'Furiously angry so I can focus on work' And then fall out boy because I like fall out boy. (ps highly recommend the Daft Punk live album to anyone who fundraises)
