🗣️ Young Coaches…
🚨 Be Great at what you are asked to do within your program before you start trying to add more to your plate!
🤝 Once you’ve earned trust within your organization by proving you can execute your tasks at a high level then it’s time to enhance other areas within your program!
📈 Continue to learn and grow… Your older self will thank you later!

You know what's more expensive than $4 a gallon gas?
Paying student loans I never took out.
Paying for free food for someone that shouldn't even be here.
Paying healthcare for people that jumped the border.
Paying for infrastructure in a country I've never been to.
Paying for military protection for people that hate us.
Paying the salary of politicians trying to destroy this country.
Paying judge’s salary that no longer support justice.
These things are costing me a hell of a lot more than a gallon of gas…

📪 This is a great time of year to send a Good Luck this Season text or handwritten letter to the coaches in your network!
🤝 These small Touchpoints allow for your name to continue to be seen! These opportunities of done correctly will build a stronger connection over time!
One of those things I would love to implement into my program!! Instant, LIVE feedback is a must have to any player for growth and development
Want to show film during practice? Keep it simple!
All you need is an HDMI cable, a Roku TV, and a rolling TV stand.
Connect your laptop to the TV and code practice live in Sportscode.
Now, anytime a coach wants to see something, just click that instance on your timeline and play it back instantly.
Simple Practice Example:
You’re running inside run drills, and the offensive line coach notices the right guard taking a bad first step.
Instead of just explaining it, the coach walks over to the TV, clicks that rep on the timeline, and shows the player exactly what happened.
The player sees the mistake, understands the correction, and gets right back in the drill.
That’s instant feedback without slowing down practice!
No need to wait until practice is over to teach from film.
See it. Show it. Correct it. Rep it again!

If we could get players and parents to realize this, coaching would become five thousand times easier overnight.

The economics of girls club basketball are changing FAST, and I don’t think people realize where this is headed.
Let’s be clear. Money changing hands in AAU basketball isn’t new. It’s been happening on the boys side for years, and the truly elite girls have always had some negotiating power. But traditionally, having your travel expenses covered was considered a pretty good deal.
Not anymore.
We’re now seeing parents asking for travel expenses PLUS CASH. And it’s no longer just the elite, program-changing players. Even role players on circuit teams are starting to expect compensation.
A big reason? The circuit wars.
New circuits are throwing serious money around to compete with the Big 3 shoe companies. And when you’re trying to convince established programs and elite players to leave, money is one of the quickest ways to get their attention.
I heard about a girl last year who received a deal worth more than her parents make in an entire year.
And seriously, WHO ISN’T TAKING THAT DEAL?
I certainly don’t blame the families. But here’s what happens next.
The superstar gets paid. Then the next-best player wants money. Then the starter. Then the role player.
What was once the exception slowly becomes the expectation.
My prediction? Within 3–5 years, top girls club programs will need their own version of collectives just to remain competitive.
And that’s where things get interesting.
You can have great coaching, development, exposure, college relationships and a proven track record of getting players recruited. But what happens when another program can offer all of that AND money?
I think we’re heading toward a massive divide between the HAVES and HAVE-NOTS in girls club basketball.
Some really good programs are going to get priced out. Not because they aren’t good enough, but because they can’t afford to compete financially.
We’re watching girls club basketball evolve from a development and exposure model into a player-acquisition marketplace.
The question isn’t whether money will change the game.
It’s how fast the club model will die for what comes next.
Big year ahead! Just gotta keep growing and improving #DubsUp

@SSCTrojansMBB tops the #NJCAARegion2 DI Men's Basketball Coaches' Pre-Season Poll!!
They are going to do everything in their power to keep the top Big 12 teams in that 8-12 range so when one or two of them get a loss, they fall out of the playoff picture…BYU should be above UT.

I also learned, you better be prepared for a lot more when you walk into this jamboree. Some of these teams are in mid season form already😅.

My wife this morning;
“8yrs ago at Murray State when we watched you @ Dave Neely’s event. I remember you couldn’t get the ball across 1/2 ct the 1st 5 min of the gm. I thought it was going to be a long year.” We made the natl tourney that year! Your season isn’t defined today.

Playmaker vs. Advantage Creator: Which would you rather have?
I think there’s a difference between the two, especially when it comes to roster construction.
A playmaker makes the right decision when an opportunity presents itself.
An advantage creator forces the defense to make a decision. They get downhill, draw help, and create rotations.
Here’s why I value advantage creators so much.
When you have someone who can consistently create an advantage, more options open up for your playmakers.
Instead of having to make something happen against a set defense, they’re now attacking closeouts, playing 4-on-3, and making decisions against a defense that’s already rotating.
The advantage creator bends the defense. The playmaker takes advantage of it.
Both are valuable, but if you’re building a roster, which one are you prioritizing?
