Budget day. Before John Healey stands up at 12.30, one question from Burnley: who pays the bill?
Working families here are already stretched by energy bills, food prices and council tax. No new taxes on the people who get up and go to work. Back 6am Britain.
Burnley people work hard, pay taxes and play by the rules. They're sick of a system that rewards those who don't.
Restore Britain will stop the boats and remove every illegal immigrant. No exceptions, no appeals, no benefits.
That's my pledge.

Who pays the bill?
This week the Chancellor delivers a Budget with a hole of around £35 billion. Before anyone reaches for working people's pockets again, look at where the money goes.
This year Britain is forecast to spend: 💷 £97.8bn on Universal Credit and similar benefits 💷 £50.2bn on disability benefits 🛡️ £81.5bn on defending the country
That's around £148 billion on welfare, against £81.5 billion on defence, in a world that is getting more dangerous by the month.
Meanwhile, if you get up every morning and go to work in Burnley, you're paying more tax than at almost any time since the war, and the welfare bill keeps climbing.
Of course people who genuinely can't work must be supported. But a system where the welfare bill grows faster than our ability to defend ourselves isn't fair on the people paying for it.
Restore Britain stands for sound finances, on the council and in Parliament. A welfare system that rewards work, a properly funded defence, and a fair deal for the taxpayers who keep this country running.

Keeping Burnley safe: why I won't let this drop
In July, I proposed a motion at Full Council to strengthen Burnley's Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO), which gives police and council officers powers to tackle anti-social behaviour in public places. It passed by 19 votes to 17, with support from across the parties.
My motion asked for: Tougher protection in parts of Gannow, Daneshouse, Trinity and Whittlefield with Ightenhill, plus problem parks and streets
A power to require face coverings to be removed, so offenders can't hide their identity
Proper joint enforcement with Lancashire Police
Letters to the Home Secretary and Housing Secretary calling for action.
On 21 October, the Executive threw it out, on an officer's report that treated it as a borough-wide order. That isn't what councillors voted for. Crime and anti-social behaviour together are up almost 6%.
This is exactly why I'm standing with Restore Britain.
Our aim is to Make Britain Safe Again, with no-nonsense policing that does what it needs to do.
Our policing plan, Restoring British Policing, would put officers back on the streets with the independence to enforce one law equally for everyone, and take politics out of policing. That's what residents in Burnley are asking me for, and it's what I'll keep fighting for, in the council chamber and beyond.

Safe nights out in Burnley start on the door.
As @MontgomeryToms sets out, Restore Britain will retest every SIA licence holder, require fluent English and prosecute firms using illegal workers or fake licences 👇

Net zero or energy security? @RupertLowe10 asked the department in charge, and it's a fair question.
Burnley was built on making things. Our families and firms need affordable bills and reliable power, not targets.
Energy security, every time 👇 teapawt.net/RupertLowe10/status/21… #RestoreBritain
Family homes should stay family homes.
Too many Burnley streets have seen good family houses carved up into HMOs, with more bins, more cars and less community.
That's why I support extending Article 4 to every ward in Burnley. It means turning a family house into an HMO needs planning permission, so residents get a say.
It stops landlords simply moving into the wards that aren't covered yet. It keeps homes available for local families and first-time buyers. It protects the settled, close-knit streets that make Burnley home.
Restore Britain puts families and communities first. This is how we do it locally.

While other parties throw mud at each other in Huncoat, Restore Britain is one team working hard for residents. Proud to back Mark Conlon on 12 November, a local lad who'll put Huncoat first. Register by 27 Oct and bring photo ID.

Restore Britain is 8% nationally in a 10,000-person poll, level with the Greens, and 10% under PR. Not bad for a party that's not yet a year old. Burnley is ready for change. Are you with us?
Now is the time

Today's national figures confirm what families in Burnley already feel every week. Inflation has jumped to 3.5%, driven by fuel, and the national debt has passed £3 trillion for the first time.
Here at home it's worse:
5.7% of working-age people in Burnley are on out-of-work benefits, against 3.9% nationally. For young people aged 18–24 it's 10.3%.
Full-time workers living in Burnley earn about £97 a week less than the national average.
Around 37% of our children live in low-income families, among the highest rates in the country.
Just yesterday, the landlord of the Hapton Inn said he's quitting after the pub's energy bill more than doubled.
As Rupert Lowe said today, we can't keep borrowing our way out and leaving the bill to our grandchildren. Burnley needs cheaper energy, real jobs and a government that puts our town first. That's what I'm standing for.

I’m fortunate. I’ve been successful in business, I have money, I don’t have to worry about our financial future. I donate my entire MP salary to local charities, to show that I’m in politics for the right reasons.
I’ll be honest. I don’t have to worry about paying the mortgage each month, or having enough money to buy the children what they want for their birthday, or even being able to put food on the table.
I don’t, but I know millions of Brits do. That’s the brutal reality.
Hardworking British men and women should not have to live like that. If you work hard, put the hours in and live honestly?
You should be rewarded for it, properly.
That means lower tax, MUCH lower tax and higher thresholds, but it also means a state that can keep inflation under control so that the cost of living does not outstrip your wage.
Fuel, food shop, clothes, electricity. Everything. It all gets more expensive whilst so many earn the same.
Inflation. All driven up by the decisions of politicians who will never have to live with the consequences of their actions.
Our economy is completely broken. It works for the international corporates, the bureaucrats, the London managers.
It does NOT work for the plumber, the entrepreneur, the farmer, the construction worker, the hairdresser, the nurse, the sole trader, the HGV driver, the police officer.
We must aim to entirely reshape how the economy works so that vast profits made from British workers are not shifted offshore through complex corporate structures whilst working families are bled dry by our corrupt state.
I want family businesses to thrive, entrepreneurs to succeed, risk-takers to flourish. Those who contribute, protect and enhance our society rewarded. I want the shirkers and piss-takers crushed.
That’s what I want. That’s what Restore Britain wants.
I don’t want the parasitic global corporations or our rotten state profiting off the ingenuity and sweat of the British risk-taker. Rotten monopolies that have no respect for the individual will end.
In short - an economy that provides for our people.
There is ONE way out. A Britain that lives within it means. Just as we all have to, our state must do the same. Spend less than it earns. It’s that simple.
That is how we make Britain affordable again, make Britain ambitious again and make Britain work again.
That’s what a Restore Britain Government will deliver.
Release the innate brilliance and tenacity of the British people.
Our entrepreneurial spirit conquered the world before and we can do it again.
Disgusting violence in France over the weekend.
Historic town halls torched, shops looted, cars burned, police overwhelmed and thousands arrested.
This is what happens after decades of open borders, failed integration, being soft on crime and elite denial.
Macron’s France is a warning.
Restore Britain will secure our borders, enforce our laws, and keep our streets safe.
The time is now
