Franklin Regional snaps a 7-game losing streak with a 35-0 win over Fox Chapel. Jet Taylor rushed for 163 yards and 2 TDs for the Panthers. QBs Dom Devola and Brock Bowser both played (had been injured). Devola had a 29-yard scoop-and-score, and Bowser ran for a TD. First win for new Panthers' coach Brian Johnson. @_FR_Football @FRPantherSports @TribLiveHSSN @CoachJohnson67

Its not about the level you play in at the college level, but the opportunity to play and compete at the college level!!! – at Municipality of Murrysville, PA
As college football kicks off across the nation, it’s easy to get excited for all the D1 matchups. BUT, there is ONLY ONE ranked-versus-ranked matchup in Division I FBS for Week 1. No. 24 Louisville vs. No. 9 Ole Miss. Local D1 matchups include: Marshall at Penn State. Miami (OH) at Pitt. Who cares about those games? We all know the end result before those games even start. ON TOP OF THAT, D1 football has become PRO FOOTBALL. Something @Steigerworld2 brought up today. It’s out of control. So, what game am I excited for? Grove City vs Cortland. Which has become a special watch over the past couple seasons. THE FIRST EVER MEETING BETWEEN THE TEAMS WAS AN ALL-TIMER: Cortland beat Grove City 25-24 during the 2nd RD of the NCAA Division III playoffs on their run to win the national championship in 2023. THE REMATCH: Grove City opened the 2025 season against Cortland on the road. Grove City won the second all-time meeting, 31-14. ———— The Wolverines will be without — a close friend of mine — the greatest pass rusher in Division III history, Ben Bladel. He graduated in May. Ryan Montgomery — also a close friend of mine and one of the best multi-sport athletes out of Slippery Rock High School — is entering his last season of eligibility. Can’t wait to see what he does in his final year. While calling games for the @PACSports Network, I have called a number of Grove City football, basketball, soccer and baseball games… It’s one of the best D3 athletic programs in the local area, and they have a REAL SEASON OPENER on Saturday... unlike most D1 programs. There’s always a number of great storylines to follow. D3 is still the collegiate level! Only ~6%–7% of high school athletes play at any NCAA level! @professorbriggs @ChrisBurtch3033 @GCC_FB
