[Limbus Company Canto X]
I didn't get to screenshot the Ending C text... But okay, gosh, finally.
I already gave my thoughts on the Grand Magasin Sisyphe before, but now that I've gone through it fully, I can comfortably say... that I don't want to do this ever again.
Perhaps it's because I'm playing on mobile, but I did not like the touch controls. Should come as no surprise I guess, and it wouldn't be as much of an issue if it wasn't for the lighting and environments. Like, during those overworld battles, I would do frequently get hung up on a black pillar that I can't see because of a black floor was staggering. And that's not to mention the dark lighting persistent throughout most of the GMS.
I don't often get angry while playing because I tend to understand when it's my poor playing skills. But I don't think this is one of those instances.
As for the regular Limbus Company fights? They're mostly normal. Only 3 fights got me confused.
First: the Alterationist. I probably missed a few details, but I did not grasp this fight at all. I was bleeding Sinners, the boss has this 1.5k shield that'd come back each turn. And so I decided to restart the fight by attempting to kill all my Sinners. So I put every turn on Win Rate. And believe it or not, eventually I actually won.
Second: the Warden. He was a lot more straight forward than the next boss, but his high damage still threw me for a loop. Took me a few retries, but hell no I'm doing the fight from the beginning. Shit's long! But the part that actually messed me up was the Nails on the HUD that do damage if you connect those to a Sinner. I didn't actually grasp this concept until a while later into the fight; I just hear this weird sound and even later, find out my Sinner's HP is missing. Once I realised that, then the fight became kinda manageable.
And obviously pff, Buffet. The last boss I had trouble with was Canto VII's final boss because of the multi-target, high damage, occasionally confusing battle field. But I think Buffet is probably one of the least fun fights I've had in Limbus. Mainly because the clashes were pretty demanding, handling L'abject was pretty stressful when getting rid of them involved the hardest slap of all time, and making sure the Pwie's buff things went smoothly.
Admittedly, the Pwie status thing is kinda my fault because for whatever reason, kept lumping Shared With Pwie and Pwie's Memories as the same thing, when clearly they aren't. I probably got overwhelmed by everything else, and the icons are the same.
Here's the funny part, and you can make fun of me for this: the moment I started using EGO, the boss fell apart. Goes without saying perhaps, I've heard numerous players essentially go "just use EGO" in other fights, but for me, I actually scarcely use EGO. I've never really needed to. In every other fight, I'd just identify the gimmick - might take a second run to do it proper as a result - then just do my thing. The Buffet fight taught me to use the EGO. And I had all the resources in the world because like I said, I don't really use EGO, even if I should. So, just spamming it as if it was just a metreless Super was something I could do. Obviously, I still had to contend with L'abject and losing Sinners a lot, but it became so much easier.
I did not like this boss.
Even Jeanne was piss easy by comparison. I did nearly mess up the dance sequence though because I misunderstood the Skill numbers, but I realised quickly what it meant.
Got a few unlucky coin flips, but whatever.
As for the story, I was rather intrigued by it. I feel like I didn't really grasp the greater theme of this Canto. Something about wanting things to be the same versus making new experiences. Something about memories and nostalgia, I think? I wasn't fully sure.
But I did at least enjoy Meursault's story and his relationship with Jeanne with how they understand each other, but also don't really agree with each other. And the story about his mother is pretty tragic.
The new characters were fine. This other Kromer is a bit peculiar, but basically just as messed up in a different way compared to her sister. Most of the residents of the GMS were neat. Dubois was... a character? I heard he acts as the POV in numerous Sisyphe ID stories. Cool.
Of course, there's Pwie/Buffet. Though I don't like their boss, I like the character. I admittedly don't have much to say on Pwie, but yeah. They added to the conversations when they came up. Cool, it was nice to watch unfold.
Carmen, now this was a surprise. I know she's been present in the background for lots of other Cantos, but just her being there was quite a shock. About as shocking as how big her boobs got. But anyway...
I'm not as interested in talking about her role in this Canto. Like yeah, the Golden Bough's implementation into the GMS meant that she was essentially there all the time; it's probably why she wrote those messages on each floor. The way Dante spoke to her made it seem like the two already talked before??
But no, what I'm interested in is Carmen herself because I've never been able to fully pin her down. If you look at Carmen from the perspective of a single Project Moon game, she's either a good woman who got depressed after a horrid accident, or she's a super genius and manipulator who gets weak-minded people to become their "true selves", and then those people end up wrecking the City.
Quite frankly, with the information we've got on her, I don't really feel it's exactly right to call her good or bad...? She has a role and it's relatively noble - like what, she wants to make the City a better place and she's definitely thought this through - , but the ways she goes through it are quite reprehensible. She wants people to be more honest with themselves, so she basically says, but that involves turning them into something inhuman and she eggs them on.
I don't know, she's quite layered and she's definitely one of the more interesting characters in the whole Project Moon universe. Good thing I guess, she's hung over us for every entry this far. Stands to reason she's got depth. The Giants of the GMS have competition as there's someone way bigger than them, and she's not even in physical form.
Seriously though, what's this boob envy I'm sensing, though?
> reads Carmen trivia on wikia.
Carmen "likes to" say she's 5'7ft? I guess it's pretty close, but in my opinion, she should be more like 57ft. Or miles. Or something.
I should make a habit of double-checking tweets I make on phone. I feel like I make tons of typos without realising and it's embarrassing when I find out only hours later.

Pretty sure the HSR characters will be happening around the same time as Sunbringer.
I'm trying to save for Kafka (for no real reason tbh, she's just attractive and all), but I'd also like Sunbringer too.
I suppose Kafka would be higher priority because she's limited time. Or so I presume.
The eventual Sunbringer Agent is gonna be a 3 in 1. Not sure what this exactly means.
Not sure if they're making it so that you can do something where the team is ONLY Sunbringer or maybe upon getting them, they're treated as 3 separate characters and can allocate them on other teams.
Prior to this, I was imagining Eldreda as like, the Point character, then you use Skills to summon the others as if they're MvC-style Assists.

Fighting Game videos have enabled this weird way of talking in me. Specifically when it comes to how long something lasts.
It could be like a (tedious) task that ordinarily takes only 2 minutes, and I'll just say it takes around 20 hours.
"...enough time between Daylight Savings 1 and Daylight Savings 2 to..." is probably one of my favourite ones I've come across lately.

I have my Zenless dub set to Japanese - as usual - doing this Spooky event thing... and I'm pretty sure this is not Japanese. It's Chinese.
The cutscenes are still in the dub you choose, but not the in-game parts.
I set it to CN to see if there's any issues there, and it's completely fine. Didn't test it in EN or KR.
I had headphones on at the time, listening to other stuff, but as I was playing this event, I was noticing the characters add "le" (了?) words at the end of sentences (not in the below example) and the JP language does not do that. So I paused whatever I was listening to to actually hear the game.
[Zenless Season 3 Chapter 4]
Okay. Quite a lore and story dump of a chapter, even more so than usual. But you know what, I actually quite enjoyed it.
Once again, the newly introduced characters are primarily there to fulfil a supporting role as apposed to it being based around them, which I should say if I haven't already, that this is my preferred option. It allows Proxy and other important characters to get the focus and that's what we have with the Sunbringers.
One thing I quite like about this chapter is how it answers some questions that I was previously wondering like why Promeia is even a thing in this story, or Phoenix's whole deal. Makes it feel like we were never meant to get the full picture until it was ready to be answered.
I liked how Krampus and those of Roscaelifer butted heads, something we hadn't really seen since the finale of Season 1. I just like the idea that they may be after the same thing, but the routes are different, so naturally, this is what would happen.
The whole Sunbringer revelation is quite sad, in my opinion. I haven't exactly gathered all my thoughts yet because the cutscenes rivaled that if MGS, but it really felt like OG Sunbringer felt really bad about having to change 3 people so that her dream could continue and all that. The fact she also had to do it to a young kid like Dracaene is particularly heartbreaking. I do wish I got to see how her friends reacted to her "aging up" so to speak because prior to her change, she's a completely different person as far as I'm aware.
Youkai and especially Truvia's part in this, it's kind of interesting. I see it as parallels between the lie of Helios Academy and the lies of the Sunbringer. Now, it's how those affected decide to react to it, in which case Trivia seems to go down the route of Liquid Snake. I see her reaction not only as like "my life is a lie" kind of thing, but also jealousy towards the Proxy because they got it super good, comparatively. I'm pretty interested to see how this whole thing ends. I'm sure it'll end in like a giant monster thing and/or their deaths, but you know.
So, the new characters:
Phoenix is quite amusing. Seems like they used her more as an ace in the hole because they realised that though she acts incredibly silly, she has uh, quite the fuse. She does her part. She's amusing. Although I must question her qualms about running up the stairs to reach the top. I mean... she's got rocket wings. Fly. TO THE TOP OF THE STAIRS!
And Severian is fine. I don't find him intrusive or anything, but I don't feel like he did that much in the grand scheme of things.
Last thing I wanted to talk about is how they're doing the chapters now.
Recently, they've just been ending off with a To Be Continued, which is normal, but like, I'm most gachas, a story ends and then the world returns to a status quo where everyone's fine and just waiting for the next part of the story as they wait for more info. But these recent chapters have simply been them writing the story and when the current threat and info has been delivered, the chapter ends. Not a problem per se, but it is quite peculiar, to me. Makes the disconnect between the main story and everything else a bit jarring.
And I thought this last time too. Like, okay Roxy's got captured. Then the pinball event happens and I'm just thinking "oh, how you feeling?"
The ultimate Shut Up, Don't Think About It moment.
Anyway, yeah. Still quite enjoying Season 3.
