Met and hung out with @R_treebee63 @PandaTM3 @Ia_muneca at #RDC2026 🔥 It was a lot of fun talking with you guys and being a part of this event together, I met so many people — you guys felt like family! I appreciate how quickly we became friends ❤️
The only reason I own headless is because I bought it for a mod of my game Castaway and didn’t know it couldn’t be traded 😂 so naturally I had to buy it again as a gift for them 😭 I personally do not enjoy spending robux on my avatar lol

Hoping this makes someone feel better because AI stuff is cool but gets fatiguing to see
I think game dev social media/ai tech bros on twitter really paint a grim picture about the landscape with all these “look at my one shot opus 5.5 game!!” posts
And I think a lot of passionate creative people in the game dev community get discouraged and heart broken about this
But ultimately those who do really well and stand out in game dev are going to be the ones who iterate on ideas for months and build actual crazy tooling and workflows with the help of ai, and constantly learn a bunch of new skills adjacent to game design and agentic engineering now.
AI never changed that requirement of hard work iteration, development cooperation, and learned skills, despite what these one shot sloppers would have you believe.
The skills required now are just shifting , and it doesn’t mean your old skills as a coder artist or designer aren’t valid , they’re just a nice head start and advantage for you into learning what everyone will be required to learn in the coming months and years

Got sick of uploading meshes and textures, so using websockets I made a free plugin that live-syncs your blender scene to Roblox
You can then bulk upload all the textures and meshes easily, and meshes with the same geometry get linked together as one asset

Look I don’t even know how to process this. It’s beautiful. Something’s shifted with these models where we’re out the other side of the uncanny valley for ai art and this is just … art now.
TLDR: The rise in Ai usage in software engineering may inevitably lead to a greater demand for experts in the field, at a higher cost to employers than ever before — more job security, higher pay, less competition.
Imagine for a moment that Ai dramatically succeeds in supporting many tens of thousands of emerging small businesses to find success in the software industry. At a glance, this sounds terrifying for job security — any junior engineer has highly advanced tools to accomplish much of what you can do with 10+ years of experience — Ai does it faster and cheaper than any team of experts ever could. Bear with me for a moment.
We’ve already seen examples of small and large companies alike running into major bugs and design flaws that are potentially detrimental to their success. The engineers who solely depend on Ai will only be able to approach these problems with Ai solutions — they will not possess the experience or knowledge necessary to identify and fix any major issues on their own. They don’t know how their system works, the flow of logic, the limitations, the vulnerabilities, etc. This is already a rising complaint amongst experts in this industry.
So, without any understanding of the system they built — which is now in live production and profiting — when they inevitably have a major problem, after exhausting their efforts to solve the problem(s) with Ai — they will turn to hiring an expert to come in to identify and solve the problem for them. When the cost of the problem is great enough, and Ai fails to solve it, this will be the only solution they can depend on with certainty — and they will depend on it.
Now imagine that at scale, tens of thousands of new successful startups primarily built by Ai, lacking any experts on the team, generating enough revenue and facing enough cost to justify urgently hiring an expert — suddenly and rapidly the demand for software engineers who have sufficient expertise will skyrocket, alongside the cost of hiring them. When there are more teams hiring experts than there are experts available, experts will charge exorbitant sums.
This compounds with the likelihood that junior engineers entering the space are not meaningfully progressing in experience or knowledge because they rely heavily on Ai — give it 10 years and we will have a new era of software engineers who never actually learned how any of it works. Experts will be fewer and farther between, and the demand for them will only continue to increase — meanwhile more and more businesses will continue to enter the space.
That being said, in my opinion there is a strong likelihood that contrary to popular concerns — expert level software engineers will not lose relevance in the slightest but instead may become so highly sought after in the coming years that there will be no shortage of demand at all, or potentially ever again — more job security, higher pay, less competition.

Roblox Destruction systems are bummy. i made one that's actually cool.
Miniguns shred walls. Explosions carve through buildings. Debris actually flies. Everything regenerates.
I built the whole system.
You can have it free. Link in replies 👇

I discovered a new way to implement shaders in Roblox!
SSR works!!!
After years since shader code was removed from Roblox Studio, we are now able to replace Roblox's default shader with custom MODIFIED shaders.
THESE ARE NATIVE ROBLOX SHADER FILES!

A lot of Roblox’s updates at the RDC Keynote this year felt like them finally maturing and acknowledging that they’re a major gaming platform & engine.
At some point I’ll write up an article about what I mean by that.
Separately, after talking with Staff, Roblox Everywhere is MUCH cooler than they let on on-stage. That’ll need to be a whole article of its own.

As always, it’s always hard to introduce yourself or to catch up with every single person. One thing is for sure though, there was an extremely positive vibe every single day there, and you can tell that the dev community really supports each other. Have safe travels! ♥️

That's all for RDC 2026!!
It was so great to network with so many creative developers across countless projects on the platform! Everyone brings their extraordinary talents to it in their own amazing ways. I'm also really proud of what our team has accomplished!!
Cofounder of bungie Alex Seropian is on my highlights 🔥 Playing the original Halo games is some of my core childhood memories
So cool that he’s releasing his own game on Roblox! To hear he’s literally using Roblox Studio feels like a crazy bizarre dream
RDC Highlights in no particular order:
2D tools and ortho camera
Root motion animation
Storefront support(!!)
Offline game support
Studio teleporting
Roblox bank card
New terrain system
Assets as folder paths
Moderation callback on server
New anti cheat
Queue based matchmaking and compute
And there’s so much more! Proud of how well we’re supporting creators. #roblox #rdc2026
