Acknowledging our ancestors allows us to claim our rightful place on the globe & in history
Pakistan is the foundational land of 3 major religions.
It gave the world:
- Rigveda
(compiled in Gandhara & it is the mother of all sanatan dharams that came 1,000 yrs later)
- Mahayana Buddhism
formed in Gandhara, it was taken by Gandharan & Swati monks like Lokaksema, to China, Tibet, Japan & Korea
- Sikhism
Founded and elated in land of Pakistan
- Indus -Sufi traditions
the unique distillation of meditation, Jogi & Islamic traditions
There was only one place in the world at the time that:
- had Indus valley religion & spoken sanskrit, steppe aryan religion & zoroastrian Avestan language being spoken and mixing at a single point in history
- that was Gandhara
These “Unique” multi ethnic, multi ethinic Rishis wrote the Rigveda
All other variants came a 1,000 years later

催收电话打到他通讯录里的朋友那儿，朋友问的第一句话是：你在哪个平台借的，帮我也弄一笔。
拉杰什后来接受采访时说了一句话，被传得很广：手机里冒出来的钱，凭什么要还。
这句话把上百家中资平台钉在了印度。巅峰时期，印度每三家在线借贷平台里就有一家带着中资背景，累计砸进去的钱折合人民币约180亿，六年之后整体亏损超过70亿，退出率超过95%。
头部中资平台的坏账率突破50%，中小平台飙到80%，放出去100块能收回20块就算行业优等生。
国内最管用的“爆通讯录”，逻辑是熟人社会里的面子约束，你不还钱，亲戚朋友同事都知道，你抬不起头。
到了印度，催收电话打过去，对方的反应不是“我劝他还”，是“你告诉我怎么下载这个App”。

In 1987, many young Pakistani artists saw miniature painting as backward looking.
Shahzia Sikander enrolled in it anyway.
Shahzia Sikander. Born 1969, Lahore.
She joined the National College of Arts that year and studied miniature painting under Ustad Bashir Ahmed.
Her thesis was The Scroll, 1989 to 1990. A miniature about youthful restlessness and female freedom.
It brought awards, exhibitions and press. She won the college's highest merit award, the Shakir Ali Award.
Enrollment in NCA's miniature painting department went up.
She became a lecturer there.
The Scroll is credited with starting what is now called the neo-miniature movement.
1991. BFA, National College of Arts.
1993 to 1995. MFA, Rhode Island School of Design.
1995 to 1997. CORE Program, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
1997. Whitney Biennial.

The five rivers are the very name and soul of Punjab, their meeting place is "Punjnud", the point where the land of the five waters gathers itself before surrendering to the Indus.
The five waters symbolise Punjab's original abundance, its sense of unity and its people's deepest identity.
Their drying at Punjand turns that symbolism inside out ; the land of waters is learning the language of thirst and the son of the five rivers finds his tongue stuck to the palate.
