A lot of people here aren't ready to accept that many of the "We want original movies" people already did watch Wildwood.
They just don't have the numbers to constantly cover for $100 million productions, with a marketing budget, in this economy.

This was like Coraline, narnia, and over the garden wall had a baby. Phenomenal film. Cannot wait to own a copy

no spoilers, but i went into wildwood wondering “how did this movie end up rated pg-13?” and then three minutes in i was like “oh. okay yeah. pg-13 it is.”
Travis Knight says that ‘WILDWOOD’ had to be PG-13 due to the tragic acts of violence seen in the film.
“Modern cinema generally tends to talk down to young audiences. But young people experience loss. They know what it’s like to feel afraid.”

Here to gladly GLADLY report this movie was in fact incredible.
The kind of good vs evil fantasy epic that’s been missing for a while. Brave and unabashed storytelling, charming characters, and a beautifully animated film.
Western Deep being niche enough and furry enough to where if you scroll more than half a page for fan art on google images you get porn
This movie has been marketed everywhere, had incredible trailers that each had many tens of millions of views and it’s still bombing at the box office
Like what do we even do anymore is animation just cooked
People who make “we want original movie mfs when original movies come out” jokes fail to realize most moviegoers are people who want Marvel keys jingled in front of them in order to go to a theater
