Still so very proud of this! If you want to reflect or read about my experiences as a mental health carer check this out ā¬ļø it also prompts thought about our #MentalHealth system #SocialWork

Call me cynical maybe š¤ but to me seeing peoples money as a resource and getting them to spend it is not what #StrenghtsBased practice in #SocialWork is or should be? Too often organisations take language/an ideology and use it as they see fit, diluting meaning!

The Prime Ministerās claims of a āsicknote cultureā where mental ill health is confused with āeveryday worriesā are not based on robust evidence - and could lead to policies that do more harm than good.

If the Government views social security payments to people living with mental health problems as āunsustainableā, the answer must surely be to address to determinants of mental health and illness, not to restrict the entitlements of those currently struggling

Rishi Sunak today announced plans to review the fit note system for people who arenāt well enough to work, with a focus on mental health.
His speech continues a trend in recent rhetoric that is stigmatising, harmful, and inaccurate.

Deeply disappointing and worrying to see the Prime Ministerās comments about mental ill health and work. Belittling mental ill health as āeveryday challenges and worriesā wonāt help anyone get or keep work. theguardian.com/politics/202ā¦
Donāt even know where to begin with #SickNoteCulture but Iām FURIOUS š” just another way to further discriminate against those with #Disabilities. Being in work is a privilege - not everyone can, no matter how much shame the government tries to bestow on people!

Well, what a wonderful day weāve had at our Research & Innovation Conference. I was in awe of the STARS programme and the fact that we have trained over 1000 individuals to appreciate and further explore RD&I #mpftresearch

It was my pleasure to attend the Social Work Learning Academy Celebration Event where we celebrated the achievements of so many of our regional social work&social care professionals. Wonderful colleagues who make such a positive impactful contribution to the populations we serve
I felt so energised to be surrounded by committed, innovative, open, kind and driven people all at different stages of their research journeys. Thank you @MPFTResearch and everyone who made today happen. Already canāt wait for next year 𤩠#Research #SocialCare #MentalHealth
#MPFTResearch: Today was the first Research & Innovation Conference since 2019, providing a great opportunity for staff to discover more about research and innovation at MPFT on topics such as mental health, physical health, social care, public health and engagement!
Whilst not primary research, I was lucky enough to share my #LivingExperience within @BJofSW and being at the @MPFTResearch conference today, itās made me reflect on the importance of sharing all types of knowledge! academic.oup.com/bjsw/articlā¦

At the @mpftnhs Research and Innovation Conference today @MPFTResearch. Had a great morning hearing about all types of health and social care research. Particularly liked the info shared about RIPPLE which I love being a part of. Excited for the PM sessions #SocialWork
Thank you @Jeremydixonsw for such an interesting presentation helping me to consider āriskā and #SocialWork so thought provoking!
Loved hearing @RDL7 discuss #SociologicalImagination in the context of his research! Thank you š Will be keen to follow where your research takes you and the findings #SocialWork #MentalHealth
Sadly not surprising! For a profession that preaches the importance of connection, supervision and legislation the underpins wellbeing, in practice it is so hard to find! More research which leads to meaningful change is needed! #SocialWork

Love when theyāre open access. āSocial workers employed in an understaffed and overburdened environment are at higher risk of experiencing burnout, psychopathology and other mental health problems (McFadden et al., 2015; Ravalier et al., 2021; Griffiths et al. 2023)ā interesting.

Such an interesting article about #NQSWs in Wales communitycare.co.uk/2024/02/ā¦. Whilst in England the requirements are different, there is definitely challenges regarding support/wider systemic issues I think! #SocialWork
