Chicago needs a budget that reflects the priorities of working families, not politics. We must #demandbetter.

$700,000 a day for 27 migrant shelters. 22,438 CPS students unhoused. Seniors are being pushed into senior homes. Democratic policies are for illegal immigrants only… to push socialism and communism in Chicago… because @ChicagosMayor is a socialist. Building Better Together to get Brandon Johnson out of office so we can open the books up! DANIELLE CARTER-WALTERS FOR CHICAGO MAYOR 2027! 🇺🇸

Whitfield Harrington Jr. is the American Center Party candidate for U.S. Senate in Illinois in the Nov. 2026 election, running against Democrat Juliana Stratton and Republican Don Tracy. Born in Belzoni, Mississippi as the 20th of 21 children, he earned a political science degree from Delta State University, worked in banking and insurance, moved to Chicago in 2013, and serves as pastor of Prayer City of Chicago Church. He lives in Schaumburg and campaigns on a centrist “move to the middle” platform focused on lowering the cost of living.

I'm proud to announce the expansion of the National Corn-to-Ethanol Research Center at @SIUE. We're working to provide relief while supporting innovation to help farmers grow. This expansion will turn Illinois crops into new products, create opportunities, and generate jobs.

It's very easy to end Overtime. You stop 🛑 policing. You send the Employee home. You do not grant OT requests. If we do this, however; we should begin issuing The Republic of Chicago Pistol 🔫 program to arm and protect law abiding Tax Payers & Citizens. #Chicago 2nd Amendment

In the quiet chamber where no mirror lies, skin is only weather—sun-kissed or night-born, a thin flag the body flies for a season. Beneath it, the same red rivers run, the same bone-light waits for judgment. Black and white are the sky’s two moods, not the verdict of the heart that beats inside them. A man may wear the deepest night and still keep his word when no one is watching, still lift a stranger’s burden without applause. A woman may carry the pale of winter and still refuse the easy lie that would save her pride. Color does not write the ledger; the hand that signs it does. Integrity is the weight a soul agrees to carry when the road forks and no crowd is left to cheer. We are taught to read the surface first— the shade of a palm, the hue of a cheek— as if pigment were prophecy. Yet the oldest stories know better: a king in purple may starve his people, a beggar in rags may share his last crust. Skin is the envelope; character is the letter. What is written there cannot be erased by lotion, by bleach, by the long stare of history. Morality has no preferred complexion. It arrives as a choice in the small hour: to speak when silence would be safer, to return what was never ours, to look at the face that does not resemble our own and still see the same unfinished work. The soul does not inherit its color from the body. It inherits its shape from every refusal to become what fear or comfort would make of it. There are dark hearts that move in daylight and light hearts that move through shadow. Neither is explained by the pigment on the wrist. A child learns this slowly, watching a parent keep a promise or break one, and the lesson settles deeper than any story about which shade is favored by the sun. The body ages, the skin loosens, yet the record of kept and broken things remains. Integrity is the long patience of refusing to let the outer difference become an inner law. It is the decision to measure a person by the space they leave for others to stand, by the accuracy of their word, by the quiet courage of their ordinary days. Black skin, white skin—both can house that courage or refuse it. Both can open a door or close it. The difference is not written on the surface; it is written in the sequence of choices that no camera and no census will ever fully record. So let the eye rest where it first lands, then travel farther. Let the hand that is offered be judged by the steadiness of its grip, not by the color of the sleeve above it. The soul keeps no passport. It travels by the light it carries and by the light it refuses to extinguish in the presence of another. That light has no preferred shade. It answers only to the weight we choose to bear when no one is left to notice the color of the shoulders that carry it. – at Harwood Heights, IL
