Iโm going to be vulnerable in this post. Iโve always been a mostly private person with aspects of my life including my inner thoughts but Iโve grown tired and weary with my observations about humanity in general. What happened to having positive interactions with others including saying hi, good morning or just sharing with others? Communication is not there anymore. People are so wrapped up in their devices now and have no situational awareness. Maybe put the phone down, touch grass and interact with others. While Iโm more of introvert than an extrovert, I continue to challenge myself to come out of my comfort zone. Itโs not easy for me but I still do it. You can do it too whether youโre also an introvert, anxious, fear judgment, etc. The world can be a scary place but it is also a beautiful if you give it a chance. -Sandy aka ArmyBrat ๐ค
I had to take my Golden into the vet today. He had two pretty bad hot spots that started from a spider bite. They said he was so good. ๐
They checked my file and noticed my Boxer needed a rabies vaccine. I said he was in the Jeep. I brought him in. He peed on 3 girls in less then 5 minutes. They still gave him treats and smooched him. ๐๐
What a great idea. Feel free to follow Birch and learn about cool places in America ๐ป๐ฅฐ
Before he left for Seattle, Birch found seven odd places in Acadia National Park. Each one left something behind, and most visitors walk right past. What happened here? ๐ป๐ Start free: findbirch.com/acadia

A simple strip of wildflowers can dramatically reduce the need for chemical pesticides. So why arenโt they standard on every farm?
Farmers are increasingly planting colorful wildflower strips within and around their fields because these habitats attract beneficial insects that naturally control crop pests.
Ladybugs are the most familiar example. Both adult ladybugs and their larvae are voracious predators of aphids, small sap-sucking insects that damage crops. A single ladybug can eat dozens of aphids a day, while its larvae can consume hundreds before reaching adulthood.
Yet ladybugs are just the beginning. Wildflower strips also draw in hoverflies, lacewings, parasitic wasps, and predatory beetles, all highly effective natural enemies of common pests such as aphids, whiteflies, thrips, and caterpillars.
This approach is known as conservation biological control. Rather than releasing predators into fields, farmers create permanent habitats that support and boost populations of beneficial insects already present in the landscape.
The flowers supply essential nectar and pollen that many of these insects need as adults. Research shows that access to such resources significantly increases their lifespan, reproductive success, and pest-hunting efficiency.
Some parasitic wasps offer an especially impressive form of control: they lay eggs inside aphids or caterpillars, and their developing larvae consume the pest from the inside out.
Multiple studies confirm that fields with wildflower strips support far higher numbers of beneficial insects and achieve stronger natural pest suppression compared to conventional fields.
Beyond pest control, these strips provide additional benefits: they support pollinators, enhance biodiversity, reduce soil erosion, and create valuable wildlife habitat within agricultural areas.
Scientists are now fine-tuning which flower species work best for different crops and climates, aiming to design the most effective and practical wildflower strips possible.
And then the vulchers try offering a reverse mortgage to pay the taxes. No property taxes on paid off homes.
A 94-year-old woman in Jackson bought her home in 1960 for $40,000. She did everything right and paid it off.
Now her lot is valued at $4.5 million, and her property taxes are $19,000 a year. Her Social Security is only $12,704 a year. Her taxes cost more than her entire income.
She owns her home free and clear, and she still can't afford to live in it.
Some people say she should downsize and sell. Others say a woman who worked and paid in her whole life shouldn't be taxed out of her own home at 94.
If you pay off your house, should you ever stop paying taxes on it? What do you think?
Ugh...I let someone from my past get to me this morning online. My heart exploded. I know that was the goal. It's been months. I will never understand if you want nothing to do with someone why do you keep harassing them online. Blocking doesn't matter. They just make another account.
I have a right to be on SM too. I never talk about them or say negative things that would relate to my past. Life happens and I had to move on. Living in the past will kill your soul.
I get we all have emotions and want to express them online but hurting others you personally know for pleasure seems like useless energy. I hope they find real love soon. ๐๐ซ
Now getting off my soapbox.
