Today in Bujumbura🇧🇮, participants rolled up their sleeves for hands-on application of human rights-based approaches to early warning.
The day's deep dives included:
✅ Group Exercises: Identifying human rights at stake in conflict scenarios & formulating corresponding HR indicators.
✅ Human Rights-Based Data Collection: Moving from principles to practice in gathering credible information.
✅ Review & Analysis: Examining existing AU & ECCAS early warning indicators & data collection tools.
✅ Practical Template Work: Groups reviewed the draft #NHRIs data collection template & National Peace Infrastructures worked on concrete roadmaps with CSOs.
✅ "Power Walk" Exercise: A powerful activity to deepen discussions on gender, children, & inclusion in EW.

Rwanda Civil Society Platform (RCSP) Statement on the Ongoing Crisis in DRC and the Great Lakes region: Call for a coordinated and inclusive approach towards a sustainable resolution of the conflict.
RCSP is deeply concerned by the deteriorating security and humanitarian conditions in South and North Kivu that induced heightened fears of confrontation between DRC, Rwanda and Burundi.
