Two weeks ago I had to integrate with UIKit code…I was blown away by how complicated it is by comparison to SwiftUI. SwiftUI may be lacking in some areas but UIKit feels like tech debt. I’m gonna start tagging all of the places in my work apps with UIKit.

Now this is awesome! Totally gives me some new perspective on a big project I have coming up! Just read it…

#Xcode tip of the day: 1. Find a method for which you want to create documentation 2. Create a blank line right before the method, put you cursor there and press ⌥+⌘+/ 3. Fill in the info 4. You can access this info by ⌥ clicking on the method anywhere in the project #iOSDev

Have any of y’all adopted ASAuthorizationPasswordRequest? It really is the red carpet of sign-in, and prepares your app for future authentication technologies.
An iOS 15.4 change that I adore: Sign into the Amazon app. You’ll get a beautiful account picker *that includes passwords from your password manager of choice*. The deprecated SecRequestSharedWebCredential API is now implemented with the modern ASAuthorizationPasswordRequest.

It is amazing how often rebooting a server magically solves unexplainable, intermittent problems. If I can’t find a log file in the first 15 mins of discovering/receiving a report of an issue I go straight to restart services, then to rebooting the server. Works like magic 🪄
