The best hitting coach I have ever had...
My mom.
She would talk to me after games.
Usually, after a bad performance at the plate
(which happened often. Lol.)
She would say she knew I wouldn't have a good AB even before I stepped into the box.
She said she could tell by the way I walked to the plate.
I didn't believe her at the time.
I would ask myself:
"How could the way I walk to the plate dictate how I hit?"
Well, the research is on her side.
It turns out your body language does play a role in performance.
Amy Cuddy is a renowned social psychologist.
Amy Cuddy's research on body language has shown how nonverbal cues can influence how others perceive us and how we perceive ourselves.
Her famous TED Talk:
"Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are,"
Introduced the concept of "power poses."
Research showed these poses boosted confidence, increased testosterone levels, and reduced stress.

"If you came to a random B.P.this spring & you saw that half of our balls weren't leaving the infield, you would say, 'Wow, this team is not very good’ but that's just part of the concept where we make things difficult in practice so the game is easier." Adley Rutschman

This is a Big Leaguer at a HS Practice. Just supposed to catch the throw. But his standard is more. That’s why he is a Big Leaguer. He accepts nothing less. Take Notes.

Academics matter. Without good grades, you can’t be college ready. With GPAs lower than 3.0 fewer than 50% of colleges are able or want to recruit you. If you have aspirations of playing in college, don’t be lazy. Do the work; achieve in the classroom. Academics still come first!

Many think that playing infield is all about the hands. It’s really about the ability to be athletic with your feet that allows the hands to work.
The feet make the catch. The feet make the throw. I bet you can’t watch Gunnar Henderson’s feet just once.

Pick the Right Hop
A lot of errors are caused by playing the WRONG hop. We let the ball play us instead of using our feet and attacking the RIGHT hop.
See the big hop and go attack it!!
