Margaret Thatcher replaced Domestic Rates with Council Tax.
Under Domestic Rates if your house was worth 100x the average you paid 100x the average.
Under Council Tax it is capped at 3x, so people in Castle's pay little more than you.
Tax the rich, bring back Domestic Rates.

Andy Burnham has said that billpayers must not be treated like blank cheques for water companies.
Yet if he allows this eye-watering £2.4 billion Thames Water bailout to go ahead, he would be doing just that.

Very enjoyable evening in Warwick with an audience clearly supporting the idea that Brexit was a disaster and net zero is the only way to go. Nice of @libdemdaisy to be there on her birthday! We all drank to her health afterwards apart from @ZiaYusufUK who legged it with his status symbol bodyguard. Fascinating to see how he did not make a single positive argument for Brexit. They never do. He has lovely shoes though, but a very weak handshake which is never a good sign in anyone.
