Great work by all at @WMFSTechRescue to prevent a significant area of concern. Please be #WaterAware
Last year, 236 people accidentally drowned in the UK. 83% of these deaths involved men.
We desperately want to bring these numbers down.
Please #BeWaterAware and read our safety advice:

On 22nd June we had a joint exercise at Kingsbury Viaduct, with Staffordshire FRS and Balfour Beatty. It involved a large crane and rescue of 4 injured workers using specialist equipment. Thanks to Balfour Beatty for the opportunity to carry out realistic training. @WestMidsFire
Outstanding efforts by members of @WMFSTechRescue taking part in this competition, and so much personal commitment has gone into the preparations.
Immense work by all involved, and a wealth of knowledge gained, to use whilst responding to our communities back at @WestMidsFire 👏🏼
Well done to @WMFSTechRescue for aiming high at their rope rescue contest in France 👍🏼
No top spot this time, but still looks like they had a great time taking part!👇🏼

Good news story. Our @WestMidsFire @WMFSTechRescue team were mobilised to some ducklings that had fallen down a drain. After having a quacking time trying to remove the drain cover, 4 ducklings rescued and returned to their mom. – at Birmingham, England

Everyone here at West Midlands Fire Service remains devastated following the death of our Chief Fire Officer, Wayne Brown.
His loss has left an enormous void. Healing will take time, but the messages we have received are helping a great deal. Thank you.

A quick multifaceted lifting and moving exercise for some of our @WestMidsFire @WMFSTechRescue up and coming crew managers before we’re busy dealing with #StormIsha
Truly awesome times, spent with some of the finest human beings I know. ❤️
The team have spent the last 3 days in the Lake District practising some winter navigation skills. They had some theory input on map reading, plotting a route and then the next day successfully navigated to the top of Helvellyn.

It was brilliant to be able to support this event with current colleagues from across the Service, and new ones at the very start of their Fire Service careers.
We look forwards to seeing some of you back at @WMFSTechRescue in the future! 😉
A pleasure to host @WMFS_OLPD and 24 new trainees to @WestMidsFire and @SWMFireControl yesterday. Giving an insight into what we do, and how we contribute to the wider picture of Prevention, Protection and Response locally, regionally and nationally.
