🌐 Other financial assets Instead of purchasing and managing the underlying asset directly, investors can gain exposure through a financial product designed to track its performance. 🏦 But where does blockchain come into this? This is where our curiosity really begins! With technologies such as the XRP Ledger, we're seeing possibilities for tokenised assets, digital settlement, trustlines, decentralised exchanges and automated market makers. ⚡ However, an XRPL token using an ETP's name does not automatically mean it's an officially authorised or asset-backed ETP. While shopping at Waitrose with a full trolley of groceries, the store's payment system suddenly went down. 💳❌ Fortunately, another XRPHA member was just three minutes away and able to provide cash. 💷🤝 But what if nobody had been nearby? What if the disruption had lasted hours, days or affected multiple essential services? ⚠️ THE WARNING SIGNS ARE THERE. Across the world, cybersecurity incidents, data breaches and vulnerabilities in digital infrastructure continue to demonstrate how dependent modern society has become on technology. And this isn't simply a concern circulating online. 🇬🇧 On 22 October 2026, the UK Government launched its updated Be Ready campaign, encouraging households to prepare for at least three days of disruption to essential services. That doesn't mean a major cyberattack is guaranteed tomorrow. It means the importance of preparation is being recognised at a national level. Think of it this way. A warning sign isn't simply a piece of paper blowing in the wind. It's a post that's been dug into the ground, measured, cemented into place and positioned where everyone can see it. You may not know when the danger will arrive, or whether you'll gencounter it at all. But ignoring a visible warning doesn't make the risk disappear. 🚁 At XRPHA, preparedness is part of our identity. A rescue team doesn't know when its next mission will come, what conditions it will face or what equipment may become essential. That's why helicopters are maintained, medical packs replenished, mechanical components inspected and physical fitness preserved. Start with what you can afford, build gradually and maintain your supplies. The Waitrose incident may have been an ordinary technical failure. But the lesson remains the same.
