Two things can be true at once, and I think that's what people are missing in this conversation.
Cardi B can be (and IS) a hardworking, deserving, successful woman who has ALSO benefited from colorism. Those realities do not contradict each other.
The larger conversation should be about why equally talented, if not more talented, darker-skinned female rappers like Kash Doll, Flo Milli, Rapsody, and others often have to fight significantly harder for the same level of visibility, investment, opportunity, and acceptance.
And to be clear, that isn't Cardi's fault. She didn't create an industry that has historically favored white or lighter skinned women. So, acknowledging the advantages she may benefit from doesn't diminish her accomplishments. It challenges us to examine why the playing field remains unequal.

Cardi B argued that some people don't get opportunities because they aren't smart enough to market themselves and sell themselves in important rooms.

We've got ICE agents in New York City posing as NYPD, and ICE agents holding kids as bait to arrest their parents.

Our wicked ICE agent, who told dad to come out and get his daughter, while the team was holding her as bait.
Thankfully volunteer responders secured both the release of the child and secured the parents.
ICE has no warrants and is going after low hanging targets like cowards.
