I think everyone saying it's so easy to get on disability benefits and get rich should just do it then. If it's so good and so easy. Don't just fantasize about it. Get on. Get your "bag" or whatever. I dare you.

Regarding PHP: If a personal website—which is more of a static portfolio than anything—has been hosted by Wordpress for a decade, what, if anything, should its owner be doing to keep it safe? Asking for a friend.

Cooley gives the best explanation of the “flow state” I’ve ever seen. Brilliant.
No exaggeration, this guy might be the best interview in pro sports right now

The discourse on the Eagles’ handling of Jalen Hurt’s health ignores the real problem: that the NFL is nothing more than a bunch of old white men offering young Black men the promise of generational wealth by paying money to watch them destroy their bodies for our entertainment.
So Jalen Hurts learned about the blood clot before the Eagles game in London. Doctors told him not to sleep as a precaution, so Hurts started an NFL game after being awake for 36 hours, including an international flight. Now imaging has shown additional blood clots in his lungs. He's going on blood thinners and will be out for the rest of the year. What are we doing here? That's the most horrific player safety plan I have ever seen.

the Duke football situation is very telling about who has been and contributed on a football sideline and who hasn’t. Sports Medicine professionals, former coaching staff, and former legit players all know the player was out of line

Imagine how this guy treats women when there aren’t tens of thousands of eyes on him. THAT needs to be the story here.
We're not talking enough about THIS moment from the #Duke football game immediately after he struck her She is AFRAID of him after the first hit and is now watching his face and keeping her arm up to attempt to protect herself from another blow from Kimari Robinson

The problem isn't that humanities degrees don't lead to jobs. It's that we've built a world with no room for literature, art, or philosophy, anything that expresses the human soul.

When we got suspended from Cornell for our peaceful, anti-genocide encampment, Cornell admin threatened to attach a permanent notice to our transcripts about the suspensions. Cornell chose to protect this rapist, and chose not to notify or warn NSU about him.
New: One of the Cornell students accused of gang rape transferred to a Florida university. The university says it was unaware of the allegations when it admitted him, raising questions about what disciplinary info follows students between colleges. shorturl.at/pTyCC

This is an AWFUL interview with @Cornell president Michael Kotlikoff by the NYT. He must RESIGN! Some lowlights: * “he learned that a student had reported being gang-raped at a fraternity party on campus shortly after she first came forward in November 2024. But in the months afterward, he said, he did not follow up with her or seek to learn whether any of the accused men had been punished.” * he also did not know Jane Doe had dropped out. * he was not informed when the Tompkins County district attorney declined to bring charges in the case, and blamed staff for no alerting him, rather than his disinterest. * NYT: “Even as he acknowledged anger over his handling of the rape allegation, Dr. Kotlikoff, 75, at other times spoke with an almost clinical detachment about the alleged assault and the school’s response.” * Cornell has had to assure parents and guidance counselors ahead of admissions deadlines about student safety. * he seemed to blame society rather than accept any blame, saying of incoming students, “And of course they’ve been exposed to social media, pornography, misogyny.” * NYT also said he could have had access to what happened with Title IX hearings, but never expressed interest in any way. This is just awful. He is unfit to be leading our university, and he has to go!
